Noooooo! You've scratched her!!!!!

That's racing though I suppose.

Unreal result though. Well done all involved.

Well done Colin. You think he will be more competition in the dry, I would have thought Murry had the advantage in the wet with his 4WD? Guess his big lag and aggressive power delivery were a handicap when slippery?

I think you underestimate how quickly that Audi spools up, its a 1400 TFSI lump I believe!

Nothing wrong with how it's spooling. It's very rapid. It just struggled to get on the power down as early as Colin's car when coming out the fast corners. The chassis was not setup well enough for the wet conditions. Apparently they were running 600lb springs at the rear. . When exiting the corners Murray was backing off to keep the car in shape. Colin was something like 5mph faster over the line I think he said. Colin's power under steer round the final bend and down the hill is more predicable and easier to manage than rwd or rear wheel biased cars - many ended up spinning over the line and onto the pit straight.

Sad to see it twisted up after the work put in, but great to see that it's getting thrashed properly and getting the results.

Congrats

Sounds absolutely awesome revving out and struggling for grip in the wet in your video! Mental!

Good to finally meet you in person Miles! And a sort of day off was bound to do me good! It was absolutely smashing weather, but the field next to the track was recently raked and made for a dusty track, most of the front runners were about a second down on their records, so it wasn't a day we'd be able to challenge Keith Murray's stunning 32.80, but Colin's best 34.16 was as good as a match for the previous record and was top Saloon time (beating the high powered 4WD turbos, not counting the DAM 4100 6R4 in Sports Libre, which took 2/10ths out of Colin's time). The only other car in our class was Paul Webster's MX-5, posting a 37.44 best.
Being able to load the car up with no problems at the end of the day is also very satisfying, especially with Wiscombe next week and Werrington the week following that!

When Leo and I were near the top of the hill and unable to see which car was on the line, we kept thinking "is that our 205??"... but then each time we heard it... "no, THAT's our 205!". The induction bark is so distinctive and searing, I absolutely love it!

Pic of the paddock area, with some of the 4WD cars:

Wiscombe yesterday (also on today). Colin set a new
class record of 41.7 and Paul's back on the pace close to him, with
42.2. A short but loud video clip:

Haha, thanks!

Colin set a new class record on Werrington last Saturday in our 205,
37.7s beating his old record in his old car of 38.5s. Then on Sunday
Paul pushed it on again to 37.48s (that's what's great about them double driving together!) with this stunning run:
