Just caught up on this thread, great build so far well done to finding such a gem to build im very jealous! And I join your idea of keeping the build subtle whilst modifying where needed.

All the best with the rest of your project buddy

Amazing car, love the numberplate, also love the model - Jubilee - definitely a sleeper surely. I'd go steels with hubcaps, nearside front one missing. Patchwork blanket over the rear seat, hat on the parcel shelf. Get a old man mask, grey wig and flatcap - drive everywhere at 23mph until you have some a$$hole in an Audi or BMW scream up behind you then toe down and watch them disappear in the rear view!

Probably!

Won this 4 branch last night.

They have buy it now at £179 and also run lots of auctions, I was determined to pay under £130 and I missed out on about 4 by now. Got this one for £109! Can't moan at massively produced tuning parts prices

It looks less flowing than a GTI6 manifold, not sure if it is however.

I would of preferred a mild steel manifold as I may look to chop the end off this one and extend the secondaries but I'll measure them once it arrives.

I was struggling to re angle the K20 manifold enough to get it to work.

From my experience that manifold can be modified to fit quite well.

I meant the one that you have bought on eBay.

Yep :) hoping it isn't going to just point directly at the subframe like the standard K20 one does

ooo, are you going to be using the bodies and chopping the K20 inlet up?

That's my theory.

It may be a case of sending the XU inlet and K20 inlet to Colin and make one out of two.

You can't seem to buy DCOE K20 inlets of the shelf. Jenvey do SF etc

Almost seems a shame to chop up that Satchel (I'm assuming) XU manifold, but needs must I guess :(

If it doesn't need to be chopped up then I could be interested in buying it from you.

Keep up the good work though - it's coming together nicely and should be an animal when it's finished :D

It may not be the case, Colin may deem it as un usable and work from the K20 inlet and make his own flanges.

Welsh pug has pm'd me already about buying the inlet if it's unused. I'll keep you chaps posted

So I had a go at chopping the K20 inlet up to make an inlet, pretty hard work with a 4.5' grinder because it won't go in all the areas so the hacksaw was used too. Short time later I ended up with this. The runners aren't the same length at the moment so tomorrow's job will be to get them equal. Colin sells DCOE flanges so migt be able to get someone to weld a set of flanges on for me and sell the XU inlet on.

It's pretty much the same length as the Colin XU one.

clamped down onto a mill table at the appropriate angle and mill to a good finish would be the way to do it.

He does! Do you want the XU inlet?

Can get it boxed up tomorrow if you want it on before mapping.

Pretty much back to the drawing board on the throttle bodies due to the width of the Lotus bodies, itll be the same problem on DCOE Jenveys etc. Lesson learnt but atleast the setup I purchased is easily sell able. I require SF style Jenveys ideally due to being 4 x single bodies and can be spaced to fit.

On the exhaust side of things my Japspeed manifold arrived today, Im really impressed with the quality of this, I was a little worried because of the price at a whooping £109 brand new, but i'll just enjoy the cost of mass produced jap tuning products!

Also i was expecting to lengthen the secondaries to improve the torque, for some reason I had in my head they would be 7-8" but after a measure its 10-11" which is great, im hoping to leave the flexi end attached and join it into my exhaust i have built without too much bother.

Built in Lambda should keep Sandy happy for mapping too!
