massive thanks to matt holley! probably the smoothest sale ever, no hassle at all :)

It will be enough for this engine I think, and something else I dont have to worry about!

Cheers,

Al

I'm glad it got there ok, I did worry the weather would mess up the delivery.

oh haiiii, engine is now all built up and timed in. Just sorting out the blanking plate for the distributor and the trigger wheel, but that shouldnt slow the progress of actually getting it in. Its looking good though, cleaned up the gearbox alot last night too but no pics of that!

Anyway,

Nice colour choice. :D

Also liking the starter motor engine prop, but you should really use hammers for that job. ^_^

Cheers :) Pimp my engine. Starter motor seems to work pretty well, almost seems a shame to fit it to the car! There is piece of wood there too, all the mod cons!

Use a complete late XU7/XU10 8v thermostat housing in place of the 205 one, as that will act as a blank for the dizzy, and give you an OE solution to attach the coilpack to and thus no messing around making up brackets/mounts.

Dizzy plug is all done, was turned from a big old bit like so...

401214_10150617797609330_509954329_9009952_927690806_n.jpg

Then sides milled to suit, aqua blasted, full case aqua blasted, then o-ring fitted with some rubber grease. Tight fit, so should be perfect :)

More progress tonight, might even start pinning the wiring loom on the wall much later on :)

Cheers,

Al

have you seen the non-dizzy housing? gives you a nice place to bolt a factory coilpack on, so youi can use standard leads etc

oh haiii.

Ok, got the final bits done to get the engine in today, BBM mounts on, nom.

Trial fitted the manifold

which went really well... until one of the studs snapped inside the head. I very calmly said "oh, what a pity" and managed to drill and extract it with no damage or pesky swarf anywhere.

chucked some white on the shonky gearbox mount

dropped it in (i will clean the sump... the inside is clean thats what counts!) and rude trumpets on, no spacers yet though...
