Looks good Spiky, this is what I intend to do over christmas.

Can you confirm the details of the Swirl pot kit please?

i got my pot from

http://www.sm-engineering.co.uk/alloy_fuel_surge_tank.php

the rest of the fitings i got from summitracing in the US

i run two fiters, one either side of the external pump

i needed more fittings so cant really do much no,

so today/tonight i will start ripping the brake lines up as i plan to run these in the car now :)

Can you explain how the system runs?

I assume you connect the 'in tank' pump to the swirl pot, so that it fills it with fuel. The external pump is then gravity fed from the swirl pot and pumps the fuel to the engine.

Where does the fuel return pipe go to?

Also, does the 'in tank' pump keep running and circulating the fuel to the pot and then it returns to the tank? Is there a risk of the 'in tank' pump not being able to keep up and the pot being emptied?

Thanks

the way i'm setting ming is as follow

the in tank feeds the second from bottom connector to fill the swirl pot

the return to tank connects to the top fitting on the swirl pot

then from the bottom fitting goes to the first filter, then to pump then to filter, then to enging

the return from the engine goes to the second from top fitting to fill the tank

i will eventually probably change the intank to a facet low pressue pump (if i get issues)

you are right the intank will keep circulating from petrol tank to swirl pot

Been following this for a while its looking real good!

I was looking on the summit web site, very good prices on stuff, but, how much did you pay for postage to the UK? Was there a minimum order value? How much did you have to pay for customs duty?

cheers guys:)

the first order i did was 550$ and had to pay 60 quid on top to get it off parcel force :excl:

my second order was only 180$ so i'm hoping for it to be a lot less

How do you plan on sealing up the fuel pump / sender access holes and where the fuel lines come through into the cockpit? Also, how do you make up the ends of the fuel lines with the PTFE lined pipe?

I'm building a 205 rally car at the mo (see thread in technical section) and will be doing something like this myself fairly soon.

Cheers

Stu

to seal the dodgy looking hole, i will put some rubber around the pipes then seal with polyutherne sealer

it's not ptfe lined, its high spec high pressure rubber reinforced

EAR-420006ERL thats the part number on www.summitracing.com for the pipe

If it isn't PTFE lined aren't you going to get a strong fuel smell in the cabin?

Take the sliders out, clean them, and re grease. I have a mintex product designed for these if you can wait until Monday. Don't use copper grease as its to abrasive.
