Hi,

It's a bit late now but did you check that the gearbox rotates freely after fitting the quaife, very occasionally the diff rubs on the inside of the diff casing (mine did) so had to remove it and grind the problem away. Thought I would let you know before you fit the shafts back.

Just put a shaft in the splines of the diff and when in neutral turn the shaft by hand and feel for any tightness / sticking / rubbing, you will probably be ok but it's any easy check to do.

Are there any days that you don't have new parts turn up, or do something to the car? :)

Good progress though, and a nice project  (I've been a silent follower of the topic till now)

Now you are copying me! :)

What springs did you go for? I run 300lb springs which I am really happy with.

On a side note, I have concerns over the location of the swirl pot/ fuel pump. Motorsport regs state that they should be behind a firewall, I know you are not actually racing but you are going to be doing a similar sort of thing. Imagine if you have a shunt and spring a leak, you could end up dousing your seat in petrol. Have you thought about putting the set up in a sealed container, like a battery box? I have seen on ebay some quite cheap boxes made for Yachting!

For my set up I was going to mount the swirl pot and pump on the battery tray.

I had exactly that issue. Put 1 shaft in, wouldnt turn and had to grind off a bit of the housing, box side, not the diff cover

ok that quote didnt work lol, that was in relation to putting a quaife into a be3!

How are you finding the 185lbs springs? I've ordered 250lbs ones but i'm getting the feeling there going to be a bit to hard.

my diff dont rub, thank god

i cant really comment on the shocks, as i only done about 10 miles with it,

but it's not REALLY firm, it seems about right,

bedford on the weekend will be a good test.

if i think they soft, i may get 200 or 225 or both..lol
