Looking good there mate, I am doing the exact same thing as you, got my engine out yesterday ;) love it when the shiny new stuff arrives in the post too! Now I am tempted to drop my subframe off, seeing as I have new everything to go on, tried to get the ARB out with the engine gone but it was a pain in the ass.

Did you find much rust in the engine bay?

They do! ;) Well, in some event's. A 14yo lad i know was out on an autocross a few weeks ago in a 1400 205, came something like 8th overall, beating many more experienced drivers and expensive machinery!! His Dad does own and run a Rally School though so he's kind of had the practise!! ;)

yeah it's going ok, all coolant pipes made just nedd jubilee clips and one metal pipe modified for the oil cooler

as for electrics 90% done, will finish once engine is started as i dont know which wire is for temp gauge and which for temp warning

need to get exhaust modified,

new lambda and crank sensor

and new longer thottle cable

not much else

one thing i dont know is where the brake reservior comes off, but i'm sure i'll work it out soon :D

welshput, also thanks for your help

will let you know how the diodes and rev counter get on

this one should help identify any wires you may not know yet.

http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...round+multiplug

as for a TDC sensor its 1920 W9.

throttle cable you can get as a kit from GSF.

brake resevoir on teh 205 just pulls off.

my rev counter works :) (but my bloody injection double relay has just failed :D )

Turn the power on on the car and get a volt meter on the wires, ~6volts for the gauge and 12volts for the stop light :)

Looking good spikster anyway, may get to see it short(L)y :)

Looking very good :). Looks like you used the gti6 engine mounts after all then? How did you set up the alternator - I am looking at making my own bracket up...

And what about the clearance of the exhaust manifold, any big problems?

Wish I worked as fast as you :)

yeah, fits fine with std mount

alternator is a modifed 1.98v one, i'll get pics if you need them

with a mi16 alt bracket, again i'll get pics

only mod was to extend the bottom moutn 7mm

clearance on the exhaust is perfect, dont touch anywhere, and lambda is face upwards, which show how much clearance i have

looking good dude but there is 1 thing i would have done.... i would have replaced the cambelt and tensioners as you will be giveing it death on various track days...... Unless you know the history of that belt and tensioner/idler set as its clearly not brand new.
