What Have You Done To Your 205 Today?

Are those breeze blocks? If so that is incredibly dangerous.

Edit to add: It looks quite dangerous even if they aren't breeze blocks, but if they are it is a lot worse.

He's got a ramp underneath at the subframe.

Would have been quicker just draining it.

you need axle stands!

and probably a decent 2 ton jack.

Took it out for a really nice evening drive, pushed it a bit round some favourite back roads and tucked it away, ticking while cooling down...

Haha gents, they are concrete blocks.

Thanks for the concern but it's chocked on both passenger wheels, in 1st , handbrake on, ramp at back will pull car backwards if it were to move if the handbrake cable snaps and it jumps out of gear and all the concrete blocks disintegrate and the ramp underneath it rusts away and the earth tilts on it axis and makes my driveway shift in a 45 degree pitch.

Trust me , it's going nowhere.

And it's not sitting on all those blocks, it's on a concrete block and a ramp directly under the sub frame , those blocks were just temporary but I can't be bothered to move them.

I am extremely unorthodox, but I get things done in the end! !

And I've never killed anyone yet haha!!

Unorthodox is one thing but that is potential Darwin Awards material.

Quality!!!

I don't do pretty I just do things that work!!

I haven't lived to the ripe old age of 49 without knowing how not to kill myself!!

I did jack it up with a mahoosive farm jack that I have for jacking up my off roaders which weigh considerably more than a 205!!

Anyway it's coming back down tomorrow as the chap who sold it to.me tried to buy it back again tonight for the second time and he assures me that the diff he put in it doesn't have any way for the speedo to attach.

I've bought another be3 box so ill get it up on a four poster I a coupe of weeks and get the box changed and have done with it!!!

Get yourself some proper stands. The car will only fall on top of you once!

It's back on the deck now Tom and next time it's going up on a two poster for a gearbox transplant after I've collected the gearbox tomorrow.

Ok chap you know best, but my last comment, you are totally wasting your time changing a complete gearbox just to fix the speedo.

The chap that built the car says the diff in the current box has no option for a speedo .

I'll get it on a two poster and let my mate either change the box of try and take the housing out of it and put it into the box on my car!!

What's auto solo? ?

Here's some info..

http://www.gomotorsport.net/New-Get-Involved/Types-of-Motor-Sport/AutoSOLO

..and here's a video. The guy driving here is my mate Vini and he's regularly won the overall championship with his 1.1 106, beating an entry of 50+ cars; everything from MX5s to prepped Clio 172s. His car control is superb, but then he does drive for a living (suspension engine at JLR, formerly Red Bull F1)!

Same here........ I've made it past 50 ....mind you I'm down to 8 fingers and my spine barely works anymore but I must have saved myself a few hours here and there over the years. Shame it now takes me much longer to do everything these days and it's becoming increasingly difficult to climb into my 205.

Unfortunately there's only one way to learn sometimes.

Not having a go. Just sharing.

Took 3 cars for their MOT today , my local test station only charges £25 and is half a mile away - result !

309 GTI Goodwood , drove it straight out of the garage where it is stored , pass .

306 Cabrio , fixed the low rear brake effort that it failed on before , pass .

The neighbours Mitsubishi Space Star which I booked in and took down as a favour , failed on emmissions - oh well i'm happy with 2 out of 3 .

Spent the rest of the day working on my Miami 309 which I have barely touched in 2 years .
