Whats the reason for flatting and laquering again out of interest?

Asking as mines going for paint soon and they said it will need flatting after and polishing

Very nice, colour choice looks good and looks like they've done a nice job :)

Thinking about it, the colour reminds me of Maxi's old 205 Mi16 "SLA" that more longer term members might recall.

Maxis SLA was lovely, was it a deeper BMW blue? Looked great though.

Lovely work on that Justin, hope the rebuild goes well.

Looking great! Again, nice colour choice. Pretty sure Maxi's is VW Inky blue iirc.

Those GAZ legs won't stay looking like that for long, the plating on them is not great. I would advise you to coat them somehow, either etch prime and paint or etch lacquer.

Progress has slowed a little due to waiting on a few bits and work commitments but I have managed to pull most of the wiring looms through the car and also fitted a remote central locking system to car using the original solenoids. I have rigged up a power supply to the car to check a lot of the wiring and happy to report very few issues so far. I also took the time to re dye the fuel tank and filler neck. I have also fitted most of trim to rear of car although not tighten up yet as still got rear speakers to fit.

I'm away with work for next few weeks but on return I will crack on with the copper fuel lines as braided pipes already fitted and fuel pipes I have also fitted all the new gear linkages with new bushes all from baker bm very impressed feels good already and not even connected to the box yet.

I have started to refit the dash and this has raised a issue with my powersteering as my motor is where the ecu is located a complete oversight by myself so will fit a standard coloum for moment until I can rethink the idea.

Spent a little time on finishing the brakes and getting them bled up and sorting a few small leaks out but all seems good now so have fitted exhaust and wheels and tyres and got it outside for first time for a while was hoping to get the interior done a bit more today buts its raining and cannot do work in garage as need doors open.

away with work again soon but on return will be engine and box going in and seats will nearly be finished at the trimmers aswell also purchased some new seat foams.
