Things have slowed down again due to waiting for car to go to bodyshop end of the month so car is in the way just got few jobs to do on the shell like hanging the doors which I can get on with now as I have now got the hinges back from the blaster along with few other bits so these have been primed also had the slam panel powdercoated and have got engine on the stand and have started to strip it ready for cleaning and rebuilding.

Now the car is out the garage I have been having a good sort out and tidy up and have also made a start on stripping engine, I have now got block stripped and will tske to work and steam clean the worse bits then it can go of to vapour blasters. I have got to measure crank so I can get correct bearings and shells then will order new liner, rings, piston etc.

Picking up 2 Be1 gearboxes at end of feb so will get these stripped and vapour blasted and rebuilt.

make sure there's no corrosion to the block around the rear of number 1 liner, had two blocks crack there recently!

are you replacing the rear engine bush? I didn't take mine out before I cleaned up the casting then marked the shiny new casting taking the old one out.

Looking forward to seeing this one painted, there's nothing better than turning up at a body shop to pick up your freshly painted car ;) Then there's the build up phase....

Nothing much yet as kit still being fitted and then all the prep has to be done all i can report is both rear arches are cut and welded up and one side panel is bonded on and is ready to be blended in. I'm working away for few weeks then will be popping up to see it so may have more to report then. I have managed to strip the head and made a start on stripping gearbox will finish on my return then they will go off to be vapor blasted. The project will probably slow down for a bit due to work commitments and will not be at home much.

I have started to pick up the pace a little with being signed of work and between hospital stays which are getting frustrating I have made some progress I have managed to strip my gearbox which I picked up very cheap and was told it was knackered and noisey in all gears. On strip down the gears and syncros don't look too bad with minimal wear but will also strip another box I haveand use the best from both but I did find the main bearing at the final drive end had seen better days have never seen a bearing fail like this.

I have also been carring out repairs to the wiring looms fitting new connections where required and new sleeving and plastic convulted tubing so looms looking all refreshed still have to get a new underdash loom as its been cut about too much for my liking and I feel there will be too many repairs.

I have been ordering some more parts and the first of these came so big thanks to Farmer again for sorting these parts out I have already put another huge orderin with farmer and baker bm and also farmer as sorted me a set of clear siems so happy man here.

20150509_150429_zpsbrwtmvtu.jpg

I also got all the parts ready to be vapour blasted and got the txt today that these are all ready and from the pictures they seem to have come out ok so my wife is picking up for me tomorrow as im still in hospital but plan is to order engine parts when I return home and start rebuild.
