I've got a list that spans 2 a4 pages on jobs to do on the cars which is slowly decreasing

Derv:

- Lower car all round

Used the eibach springs I removed from the GTI and put them on the derv, quite like the result :)

th_IMAG0906.jpg

th_IMAG0905.jpg

- Fit shortened L bracket

- Tracking

- Change rear shocks

- Tighten handbrake

- Sort out fuel leak off hose

The car is now a pleasure to drive and handles really well.... with the nankangs pumped up to 40 psi

Jobs for GTI:

- Fit quickshift off strictlyderv

205309QSKit.JPG

Similar to this design. I attached it to the bottom of the gearstick and it's made one hell of a difference :) Much shorter and more precise. The gear rod now clears the exhaust springs soo winnings all round

- Sort out alternator tensioner/belt

Before I had a stud sticking out the mount which meant the tensioner had a lot of play. I used a mi16/gti6 tensioner pulley post thing and a bolt, coupled with a big washer it's made it simpler to tension :)

- Door strap

This problem occured the other day

th_IMAG0900.jpg

The metal tabs that stick out from the a pillar have separated from the door and makes a god awful noise when the door opens. Not quite sure how they've come unattached but was thinking of welding it back in place.

- Gearbox endplate

I box I bought recently has a porous endplate and gearbox oil seeps out when hot.

- Lower seat rails

Not happy with how high the seats sit so will be lowering them soon

^ just an insight of the jobs I have in hand  There's many more

Mate's picled this up earlier

th_IMAG0907.jpg

Some of you may recognise it, it's a 306gti6 forum members car

As a result i'm acquiring some throttle bodies :)

My mate's painting them George :)

I'm really pissed off with this gearstick to be honest. Paid £40 for it off someone on here, it's not what it was advertised as and it's f***ed and i'm stuck with it.

Ohh, i waited for what i thought was a sufficient time before saying anything presuming they would, but i guess Constella didn't replace it then?!

Done a few bits on it today, put the bus rack back on and can say that I prefer it to the Quaife jobby.

Everyone has their preferences with having a quickrack or not, but if I were to get another quickrack it would be a Xsara rack with power steering.

After driving Anthony's Jalopy to the MOT station really changed my view on it.

Changed the wishbones over to the ones Anthony kindly pressed new bushes into for me :) Cheers again :)

Also put GTI6 brakes on instead of the 307 setup, the brakes come with Ferodo DS2500 brake pads in. Work quite well once all the rust and crap had left the discs. May be a bit of air in the system or i'm getting used to the different pedal travel.

1 small job left to do tomorrow and that is to straighten the steering wheel before Ace cafe :)

Changed the oil earlier and got a genuine filter for it. Parts guy at Citreon gave me a bit of money off the filter and a free copper washer  Old oil was pretty dark, turns out the fancy Fuchs titan pro-s stuff I put it was burning off pretty quick and had no choice but to replace with regular 10-40w which does the job more the perfectly. Don't think the 2 oils enjoyed being mixed.

Solved the problem with the endplate thanks to MIles, turns out a regular 8v endplate fits perfectly on the Xsara box.

Got a phone call from my mate earlier who owns a 306 rallye, said it was making a nasty noise so pulled over.

These were new NGK spark plugs a couple of days ago, Greig never over tightens anything especially spark plugs! Was a lot of fun getting it out. Must be a dodgy plug.

Ah, that makes more sense - with you talking about the brake servo last night and the graininess of an SMS I thought that picture was of the servo with a hole poked in it,.. hence I was utterly bemused!

Update time:

Wheels which i'm in the process of spraying up

th_IMAG1036.jpg

th_IMAG1037.jpg

Me being me, has managed to break this off! Got a feeling it's from the rotten door I've got putting too much downwards stress on the check strap, pushing in on the metal bracket and breaking the spot welds.

th_IMAG1057.jpg

Anthony has very kindly cleaned up a carpet I bought off sneakygit, came up well :)

Found this when I ripped the old carpet up. Probably from where I bashed the body work to fit the custom rails. Out comes the welder.

th_IMAG1058.jpg

This stuff works wonders :)

th_IMAG1061.jpg

My rear slatted panel I found in my dad's garage which is in pretty good nick :)

Bit worrying.... looks like it's running lean. Very lean. Still need to source a lambda. I've changed the plugs and need to whip them out and see what they are looking like

The stalling problem was caused by a dying coil pack. Which has been changed and could of contributed to the below picture.

th_IMAG1121.jpg

th_IMAG1122.jpg

Spent the day at Anthony's building up my new rear beam. 22mm TB's and 24mm ARB in a 205 beam tube. Works a treat and handles really well. Need to purchase a set of Bilstein grp N rear shocks so Anthony can have his back.

The grease looked a bit odd and had a detrimental effect of the quietness of the wheel bearing  Which I changed 3 days later

MOT time came around and realised that these weren't in the best of nick. Better hurry up with my SL434's

th_IMAG1128.jpg

During the MOT the tester was testing the handbrake effort and heard a loud bang! This was the result.

th_IMAG1132.jpg

Firstline for you

The Bosal middle box had given up the ghost and sounded like a bang of nails. So out it came

th_IMAG1133.jpg

Welded in a piece of stainless courtesy of Cheesegrater :)

This stuff does exactly what it says on the can

th_IMAG1135.jpg

Wheels are getting there

th_IMAG1136.jpg

th_IMAG1138.jpg

Had an earth problem where i'd either have a working headlight and a non working washer pump and vica versa. Finally got it all working after f***ing about with earth block which I ended up chopping off and terminating straight to the body work

th_IMAG1154.jpg

th_IMAG1155.jpg

Next plan is to sort out the sunroof blanking plate and get the wheels finished
