Beam back from Anthony, what a turn around! Dropped it off late sunday and finished this evening. Apparntly was in good condition with one mint shaft and one good shaft, who says 24 year old beams are scrap?

Although he did mention it had been apart before at some point...

Couple more pictures up tomorrow if im back early enough!

This is how it looks as of today.

Rear screen bonded back in, front screen with top tint on (although think I will need a bit bigger than a 2.5 inch tint!) and rear fixed windows in.

Cage went in yesterday, just need to shorten one or two bolts to neaten things up and finish the rear spreaders underneath.

Long time since an update due to finishing my degree and racing.

So here we go!

Before I got really busy

24th May

Quick Steam clean and rebuild of the rack.

Yesterday and Today

Finally did the underseal, 4 wheels bolted back on with the running gear. Thanks to swordfish for coming to lower the beam a bit this am.

Undersealing is a grim job, did my Xs over the easter holidays with brush on hammerite stuff. Looks well,, and hopeully will help it last a few more years but f*** me I never want to do that again, my Gti is getting stonechipped and staying body colour! :D

EDIT: Meant to say you're doing a nice job Ed, looks really well, been following this one! :D

Used 3M Schutz, cheap (like 3.20 + the dreaded) and does the job well... Think I might have overdone it and made it a bit too thick in places but I had no underseal from the handbrake area back.

Thanks for the comments!

I've lost alot of motivation recently. Its just small details eating away at me that makes me hate working on this sometimes. Anyway my huge amount of M7 nylocs and washer arrived today along with some other fasteners I was waiting for so I got on doing small tasks to try and get me in the swing again.

Been a fair bit busy with silly wacing cars, crashing and blowing engines up and stuff. Finally got some bits done, bolted on and it feels like progress.
