Got some 38mm CDS for the rails. Not going for captive nut, pain in the arse if the thread gets chewed for any reason and dont find it particularly hard to hold a nut and a bolt. Plenty of space around the bottom to get a spanner on as I measured up with that in mind.

Needs a good bit of elbow grease to clean it up, but im happy with it. Need to finish of the mountings tomorrow and will clean it over the weekend as ive got to do some setups and development work tomorrow.

Well, gave it a quick clean up. Ok its not perfect and does have imperfections welding wise and surface but it does the job and looks relatively good. Bringing over the motorsport kitteh from davenports thread one of my cats just had to have a look...

 

(P.S. Sorry bout the picture quality recently, taken from my phone)

 

 

 

 

Radiators and slam panel are off now ready to clean up and fit the new rad. Might even get a chance to weld the hole in the exhaust up this week.

Well I've got a bit more time now, more than I thought anyway. Theres a delay on the engine which will arrive the day before testing, which means its being mapped and taken straight to silverstone.

 

So I started to get on with this a bit. Im not going to fit all the bits to have a messy bay, or have things going wrong to corroded connectors so I started going round cleaning them all up making sure they were on nice and tight.

 

Fitted a couple of bits I'd picked up, not much progress too look at but its eliminating things 1 by 1 and doing it in the right order that counts.

 

Had it running a couple of times today just to make sure a couple of things are as they should, with just a downpipe, a hole in the exhaust tunnel and sitting very close to that hole it sounds very nice, bike like almost.

 

Anyway enough crap here's some piccys.

Got up late, to the workshop after a couple of bits and pieces on the way and go on with some work... kind of...

Was at Combe in the morning with my new team so got to the workshop at about 6? bit later than I thought I would but hey ho. Got cracking doing a couple of bits, was a relaxed session with chris really as im pretty tired at the moment. Only just got back from closing up and having dinner there.

Monday -

 

Did a bit of work but not as much as I'd like. Small jobs really which I noticed them. Started on the brake lines for the front end, didn't realise it would take so long to get them nice and still not happy with them.

That is the million dollar question andy! Id hope to say I will get a drive in it before this September, BUT it might not happen.

 

As of next week I will be broke at the rate im going (bar money I've got aside for the workshop etc) and my mum was just made redundant so times are going to get a bit tougher I think. Coupled with all the bad things in life there are a couple of great oppurtunities coming up though.

 

Time will tell!

 

Tuesday

 

Spent a little bit of time down the workshop today, really need a rest after 2 and a half weeks of longish hours prepping F-Fords, and other stuff. Need some rest so only got 1 job doneish...

Wednesday -

 

Did a couple of bits, mainly remove the rear brake lines and take off the rear beam quickly (and refit). Took some crap off the bonnet quickly which is the only picture I got...

 

 

Away at Brands for thursday testing so didn't get anything done but on friday...

 

Friday -

 

Saw a hand from swordfish and jack again to remove the dampers to refit standard ones, we also managed to remove 2L of fresh gearbox oil all over the floor...

 

 

Saturday -

 

Got on with cutting the replacement floor up ready to fit. Testing the cage plates now with the nuts welded on. Faffing around cleaning small bits and bobs up and removing the front left wing which was a piece of piss. Pictures speak more than words...

Was my first race of the season although I had some friend do me some work. Delivery and Destruction. Turned up after we'd packed up the truck to find it all done.
