Yes great project, coming along well! I'm up for a south meet some time, my turbo needs a run! Me and my mates in exiges do a run from tenterden to dungeness, fish and chips and back home. It would be cool to have some fellow 205's in convoy.

Keep up the good work!

8.3kg.

1.9 speedlines are 8kg, SMR's are 9.1kg.

Cheers buddy.

I'm just off to get the tyres fitted.....wish the fitter luck. If he scratches the wheels, his children will lose a parent today!

'6BOY, I'm sure you posted up about an Exhaust manufacturer recently. Can you remember who it was?

Cheers

A bit of progress over the last couple of days.

I've had the tyres fitted to the SL's. I tried 7 places all of which wanted £10 per tyre. I eventually had them fitted for £35, still expensive!

Being able to get it out of the garage meant I could clean and paint the N/S front wheel arch, replace the passenger door which had a ding, for a straight one I had instock, and start removing the glovebox ready to mate the two looms together.

I then spent a couple of hours swapping over the phase1 clusters for the later ones.

Girlfriend commented on the cars 'love handles'

I also gave the fuel tank a once over

Still miles to go though

Yeah 'looks' good, but I think the tyres will be all over the plastic arches like a cheap suit

I might have to change the trailing arms for a pair of ZX items to pull the tops in a little

Bloody cars.

A little something I was lucky enough to come by thanks to Timmsy. When he offered me his Zender valance, I snatched his hand off.

zender1.jpg

It needed some minor repairs, and as with all bodykits I've seen, a little smoothing round the edge's.

I attacked the rough bits with 120 grip, to get them smooth, then applied a thin layer of P38, rubbed that down, and repeated a further 2 times until I was happy.

The whole valance then got a rub down with 320 grip to give the primer a key to stick to.

zender2.jpg

Then it was into the garage, cable tie the valance up in the air, and set up my gas heater. Panel wiped all the dust off of the valance and hit it with 3 coats of 2 pack primer I had mixed in the local paint shop. Then a final light coat of satin black as a guide coat for the wet flatting.

zender3.jpg

I may well go through the primer process again, depending on how 'straight' it looks after a rub down with 600 grit.

Graham, it looks marvellous

Im planning on a thin carbon blade to fit to the bottom of the valance. All I have to do now is find some nice driving lights.
