Main beam stalk/contact inoperative and slight caliper/disc rub from the big brake conversion :(

Heres some pictures to be getting on with :(

DVC01492opimized2.jpg

DVC01490optimized1.jpg

Seems SO much longer than a year ago when i started this conversion and joined here.

Had my Tax reminder through the post this morning wich seems very apt.

Spec:

Non sunroof '90 GTI

XU10 Turbo conversion

2.5" S/ST DIY straight through exhaust.

MR2 FMIC.

2.5" alloy boost hoses.

309 beam/driveshafts and wishbones.

solid rear mounts.

grp N top rubber mounts.

Koni yellows all round.

-30mm

Constella big brake conversion.

Mintex 1144.

16" Compomotive Mo's with Uni-royal rainsports.

Sparco seats and TRS harnesses.

Replaced:

Brake lines.solids and flexis 1.6>1.9 conversion

All fuel lines.

fuel filter.

M/C.

Reservoir.

All work carried out be Me, Myself and I....

Engine bay

Insurance is through Adrian flux and is £380 a year fully comp all mods declared B)

Cant wait to get this on track ( dont worry will fit a cage before i go anywhere near one )

I gave it some mild juice on the way home and all im going to say is it felt very spritely indeed

and i defiantely felt a kick in the pants when it came on boost :D

Still loads more jobs for me to do, so its not quite done yet but atleast next tuesday it will be legal.

You never know I might even make it to a south meet some time :D

Cheers All.

Sam.

Great stuff Sam, looks like it's going to be a bit of an animal

Bring it on on the Nurburgring trip next year. Turbo torque is useful there :(

Baz its half price re-test, new thing bought in last week so i was told by the tester, who i actually helped test

the car with, quite fun :D up on the ramp with a cup of coffee.

Nice to see it finished! any pics of the front on to show intercooler... or hidden? also whatt did you do about the smokey idle? putting up with it or did you do the special bodge we discussed?!!

Yes it is finally!

Here you go mate Front end

Intercooler

"I cant see it , can you !"

Going to be cutting those bars out to get more air flow so yeh it will be more visible then.

That 'specail' bodge wasn't needed in the end, think its was greasy paw prints and the protective layer

burning of the exhaust.smoke at idle no more:D

I got mine yesterday, i have a boost leek issue though and need to get that sorted. Also the engine is fouling the brake servo which makes braking interesting.

need to have a tidyup in the engine bay and sort a few niggles out.

What intercooler is that Sam?

John

Hey Ant .Cheers:) yep got to agree as soon as i opened the taps a big smile appeared on my face.

Plus the words 'aw sh*t' - gripped the wheel with both hands:)couldn't really concentrate on the driving

though as the bloody awful brake squealing!

Hope you get yours back on the road again soon:)

Inferno it is the later RGX engine, no idea if the seals were modified though.

John its from a Toyota MR2, looks kinda small, but it goes from the top of the bumper right down to

the bottom of the valance, so the tank cutter will be coming out shortly for the bumper:D

Cheers for all the good words people:)

Christmas has been a very good time of year for my little 205 ( probably spent more time&money on it, than I did my girlfriend ;):)

Got a nice few jobs done ( as Gemma was working ) including, skimming the inside edges of my arches to stop them

rubbing  ,moving the ECU over by the battery

DVC01513.jpg

by extending one of the brown multi-plugs (bit of a back breaker, but nevermind. Topic here.

So that meant the air filter could relocated too :)

DVC01512opt.jpg

Bit of a squeeze to fit the 'has been commented on' large ITG filter.

Following on from this

topic also, where I stated "couldn't afford a twin headlamp conversion" -_-

Look what turned up cheap (ish) @ auction :D

823f_1.jpg

Im hoping they are the correct ones that will mean moving the indicators into the bumper?

Plus now, the twin lights enable me to go 'Edd-XS' stylie with a cold air intake B)

Still, may use lower vents for brakes.

Loads of jobs still do, hopefully all completed by the end of 2007, wich leads me neatly onto:

Happy new year everyone :D

Also nice to meet a fellow forum member face to face, hey Huzzer (Ben), glad you liked the spin in the turbo ;)

What a magic fit that digital tacho turned out to be.

DVC01514.jpg

All looked straight forward to begin, but oh no, i had to put the Boost gauge in there too :(

DSC00105.jpg

Crazy plan or what! B)

Cool. You got a separate oil pressure gauge then?

Na, the engine runs an oil pressure light only, so figure i can fit a small warning light somewere else B)
