If sheep sales and car parts are the same then yes I am a salesman ;)

Good as they usually want to punt them now.

That was lucky.

Welded the backbox back on yet again on full power, penetration is everything. Sounds a lot more respectable now without it rattling against the body

Sat in Dans 205 for 6 hours, chatted to some welshmen in cornwall, and some cornish men, fitted a lambda, took it back off.

Replaced my vac advance unit, refurbed and refitted my AFM, cleaned/fixed the SAD, adjusted ignition timing, adjusted clutch, fixed interior light. Productive day!

My day has also been productive but frustrating also, I have changed the light stalk, gti badge on mudflaps, washed, hoovered, claybar'd and waxed my car. But I was planning on finally getting round to swapping my door locks and line my o/s door properly but when I tried lining it up I found the top pin was worn and at my work we have 3 boxes of similar pins so I took it out cleaned up the hinge and looked for a slightly bigger pin as the hinge holes had also worn slightly but I couldn't find one. So I gave up till monday. Got plans for tomorrow of fitting my new seats

Took a cheeky pic of the state of the workshop lol

Cursed at it.

Went and checked on it this morning for the first time in 6 months (it's 'abondoned' at the underground car park of the flats where I used to live), got a bit of stick from my old neighbours about it being there so made an impromptu visit this afternoon to prep it for moving.

Wouldn't start. Found petrol flooding the floor. Thought someone had cut my pipes to nick my petrol. Lucky that wasn't the case. But took me ages to trace the leak to the feed hose to the filter. After playing with that the hise from filter to rail started leaking too. With limited time and tools I couldn't tell if it was the hose or the joints leaking, so I just thought sod it and pulled the whole lot off and will replace it all with new. It was brand new SS over braided line only fitted a few years ago!

Also noticed at least one tyre is so badly cracked from sitting for years it's fit for the skip. They've hardly done any miles at all, but my own fault for neglecting it for over 3 years.

Time spent, pal! cracks are okay if your just puttering around, deformations and blisters are what you want to avoid while you get the old girl out and up and running again... there's always time ,just make it.... get in about it :)

Put a fire out, after i took it out of the garage and left it running in the sunshine then noticed a lot of smoke coming out the sunroof, after shutting it off disconnecting the battery and stripping out the roof console i found that the infra red reciever in the roof and the wiring decided to catch fire, very scary moment as the smoke was pouring out

These are proper cracks. I've had cracks in sidewalls before, but these ones mean business!

I wish I could make more time but the reality is that even once I recover the old piece of s*it girl back to my garage it's only going to sit there idle for more years to come as I have literally no spare cash at all (wife's maternity allowance has just finished and she'll have no serious income for the next few years), and no spare time due to baby duties sucking up every minute. In a few years time I'll be able to crack on again, and by then you won't be able to get the parts for love nor money

Welcome to the world of kids.....I have four but you have to make the time otherwise it will just sit for years on end.

This has been described a few members on here. Often when water has got in through the aerial hole and caused a short. Bloody poor design!

I think mine was caused by 2 wires rubbed through the insulation, mine has been garaged since last october so is very dry. Thanks for the info though,so much for mine still having the standard remote locking all working.I was going to try and get hold of another reciever and swap the main chips over because i guess the code is probably stored in one of these.Anyone know if this could work?
