no 205 fuel relay

you now use the gti6's fuel relay, it's a double one near the ecu plug :D

if you take it off pin14 will go live with the ignition on :P (but only if you are sending a switched live down the loom)

I tested a few things with the multimeter tonight, I swapped the starter and live as Miles stated. Everything is how it should be but still no joy.

Thats how things are looking at the moment ^ Fuel pump turns on and the starter turns when it should.

I tested the double relay and pins 2, 8, 11, 14 and 15 all have voltage.

There's no spark and no fuel being injected, i'm not sure if the ecu is being powered up.

I've tried 2 ECU's now still no luck...

Crank alignment sensor? In which case it is present. (does this need setting up etc?)

Theres no fuel being injected and no spark which confuses me.

I've got sh!t luck if i've got 2 locked ecu's

Good idea batman, only problem is though it's my mates and if I lock it....

I'll have to get him a new one.

Does any one know for deffinate how they lock themselves, e.g. what has to be connected to the car (transponder)?

It cant be locked now by using it the 205.

I see, I'll have to give it a go.

Strange though because both ECU's were bought under the intention of them being unlocked.

I reckon it's something really stupid i'm missing here...

How is the ecu supplied with power?

also looking at your looms, my looms were correct,

check you have the alternator wired on the alternator and the starter on the starter, between the brown connectors and the where the alternator/starter is in the bay :D

just incase you got them the wrong way around

also the constant live, you have connected that to the constant live of the starter or alternator? (the larger terminals) and not put it on the smaller terminals?

Hi spiky,

Got a good feeling the double relays knackered, reading Smeghalls post it says; 'If the pumps on when the ignition is on, that proves the relays knackered'.

I bought it off Jonnie205 a while back says it all...

Right wanted thread next, unless you have one?

Thanks

Paul

'also the constant live, you have connected that to the constant live of the starter or alternator? (the larger terminals) and not put it on the smaller terminals?'

The constant live I have placed on the larger terminals, is this ment to go on the smaller terminals?

My alternator only has a spade connector as a smaller terminal(?)

Inertia switch- wired them together last night, couldn't be arsed with the switch.

it's meant to go on the constant live (battery cable) the larger of the two :D

you still havent got the bottom of why the starter is getting live at notch 2 and not notch 3,

check and make sure you have conencted the wires up correctly :D
