Whilst rebuilding our 1991 1.6 GTI I've noticed some odd behaviour from the heated rear window switch and looking to see if anyone has seen it themselves. When the ignition is on, but engine not running, if I switch on the heated rear window, then switch off, the fuel pump primes. I should say that the fuel pump primes when I turn the ignition on (as you would expect). Has anyone seen this? I can't see why it should but it's hard to tell if this is a result of some odd electrical gremlins or some weird French electrical thing. Thanks in advance all! Andy.

Fuel Pump Replace

Hi everybody. Can anyone help me out. I want to replace the fuel pump on my 205 gti 1.9. Can't find anything on "how to" or a guide to do it. If anyone can help me, it would be great. Also what pump to use? Thanks!! -
Hi All, Does anyone know what is the +V and -V on the fuel pump conenctor? I think its Pin2 and Pin3 to enable the pump to prime. When taking a multimeter to the feed plug, turn ignition on, it reads 12v on pin 2 and 3 for 3 secs then drops to 3v. I just want to make sure the pump is dud before buying a new one. cheers

Which Wires To Which Pins On The Fuel Pump Relay?

Does anyone have a diagram or pinout or explanation of which wires should go to which pins of the fuel pump relay? I'm sure someone has this info recorded somewhere. I don't have an original loom handy so I can find it for myself, and the Haynes workshop manual hasn't helped yet.
