Looking really good. Also liking the brake pipe routing and attention to detail. Reading threads like this one really gives me the boost in motivation to crack on with my project. Good work

Found them on ebay. Can't find the seller now, but I think he was from Bulgaria if that helps.

Do you need any connectors now? I'll might have some extra.

Time for a small update.

The engine is put together and I received my baffle plates for the sump today.

So it's soon complete to put into the car.

I might skip the speedlines and going for 19" Magnesium... wink.gif

Why do you want to do that, those 19 Maggies to me look weaker and imo does not suit the 205 compared to the SL 341's.

Great project so far BTW, are you having a weld in strut brace too ?

Hi,

Will not go for any 19" wheels. Would just look odd just as you says. And I only got one to.

Have no strut brace welded in.

Haven't anyone got a clue about what other center caps that will fit those wheels? I'm missing all 4 on my SL434's and it seem to me the center hole is identical to that on those wheels you got there.

Looking smooth btw, how did oyu have the old paint stripped, glass blasting?

Got my engine mounts from Baker yesterday. So the engine might get into place within a couple of weeks. :D

Then I had to test how it will look with the wheels fitted.

Cant really tell without the tyres on, looks good though. The engine looks like its had a lot of work done to it to make it look as good as it does.

Can i ask, has your SL's received any lacquer on them ?

Its just it looks well done, just not very shiny or is that the pictures ?

My thoughts about them not having any lacquer is protection from the brake dust etc. I like the look of them too, with Gold i'm sure it can look too shiny in your face, which maybe that's why they dont have any lacquer.

They are painted with metallic gold and then matt clearcoat on top. (lacquer?)

Yes clear coat, neat looking with the matt stuff.

Spent some hours in the garage last weekend.

Have to buy some filters, hoses, oil, etc... So I need to synchronise my wallet with my shopping list before I can continue.
