I’m busy with this at the moment. I should probably write a thread about it, I miss build threads these days.

No engine or gearbox in at the moment, but having fitted the tyres to the wheels I wanted to see what they looked like on the car.

I've done a lot of 205 8v timing belts, assuming nothing goes amiss its 3 to 4 hours work start to finish to do the belt and water pump, bleed the coolant and run up, etc. But, that is to me that is very familiar, to someone who has never done one and is feeling their way through the job, it would easily take them longer, some of the belt cover fixings are difficult to see, you have to feel for them, and the spring loaded tensioner is a simple and clever system once you are familiar with it, but to someone who has never done one before, could understandably take some head scratching to figure out what the hell is going on.

Thanks Tom, they charged for 4.5 hours so its about right, as I did ask them to check around for any leaks elsewhere that may need attention while it was on the ramps.  They are my trusted garage tho, had really bad experiences taking it anywhere else, and they've known the car 20 years :)  They were originally Peugeot/Citroen specialists and while they do all cars now, they still have a large amount of older stuff in the shop vs newer cars, and its still the same chap running it.

As said it’s about right then. It does take that long tbh. Getting the covers off is a job in itself, and your arms usually bear the brunt of being scraped on various things.
