Time for an update!

Been a bit quiet since the engine and engine bay work, but after a bit of a break, I decided to get back into the garage and do a couple of jobs on the interior and exterior auxiliary lighting for the winter months rallying!

A few pics of the work done;

Home made carbon fibre effect door cards, well chuffed with the way they turned out and cost a fraction of the real things! :)

Fitting a new Vertical hydraulic handbrake lever this weekend, found the one I've currently got is a bit in the way, so decided to go smaller;

I fancied buying a set of real carbon door cards, but when I saw the price of them, it made me think of another way of getting the look I wanted, and after a couple of go's I got it right.

Without trying to sound like a tight ass, I'd rather not divulge how I did it and at what cost, but I'm seriously considering starting to make and sell them.

I'm currently doing a pair for a mate for his 205. I'm doing them for him at £40.

I have no idea how much postage would be, but I could get them weighed to find out if your interested?

I've also had another chap from my car club order a set for his Rallye.

The price is a Lot less than you would pay for a real set of carbon's. They would be delivered to you, with the door handle and window winder hole [if non GTi], with the mounting holes un-drilled for you to fit as you want.

Cheers :)

It is a stupid rule mate.

The stupid thing is, they are safer than the standard ones, as the big cumbersome handle has gone, I kept hitting my elbow on the standard handle on Auto tests!

Very nice, would like a set very much if it wasnt for the road rally regs. I know what you mean about the big door handle too. Nasty side impact would see it come right in as it sits above the door bar of the cage. Thinking of removing it and replacing it with a strap or something. :D

Because of plans, neither myself or my Navigator could pick up our Championship Shields, we went along to round two of the 2012 MAS PCA Championship, and were awarded them at the lunch interval.

We had a great time catching up with all of the lads!

Hi matey, I've purchased the materials, I've been really busy with work and family commitments the last few weeks.

I'm looking to get stuck in and make two sets next weekend.

Cheers!

Hi bud, Glad you enjoyed reading the project thread so far!

I painted the panels one by one.

It took me around four sunny days to prepare, paint and buff the whole car.

Update time - it's been a while.

The next phase of the plan to get some extra power from the TU3S has already begun.

I've purchased a set of Dellorto 40 DRLE's, complete with manifold, pressure regulator and fuel pump.

I'll be fitting them this weekend, and once I've started, I'll be taking some photos along the way.

Photos to follow!

Cheers Guys!

Can't wait to fit the carbs, after I give them a good clean & change the throttle bracket, I'm also going to keep the air filters off and go for a set of Trumpet Gauze Filters!

They'll be gleaming by the time they end up on the car :D
