Pure mystery to me that is! No doubt one of the mechanics is to blame for that! more likely to be my fault, even attempting this conversion ^_^ Cheers again spiky. Real big help this is.

also need to fit exhaust as that was apparently removed when the car was taken off the lorry/trailor

Hehe! Oh so depressing and familiar to see it like that. Sure you can manage it dude? Was such a clean car at one point :) You know the Sparkrite cheapness in the left side of the bay.. is that necessary?

do you want he alarm and immobilser left??? as i can remove it if you want? especially if it dont work?

i will have a start on it after work tomorrow, quite a few of the wires can be cut out. but tracing is a slight nightmare, as it stands.

glad you in no rush...lol,

we'll get it sorted dude, dont worry :):D

what are your plans??? track or road???

what you doing with the battery? leave under the bonnet or put behind passenger seat ( only an idea if you going to track)

Holy s*it.. :D

I think id be inclined to remove anything that wasnt necesary from that lot buddy!

Anythings do-able though mate, and im sure its in good wth hands with Mr Spiky, if i was a little more local id gladly offer to lend a hand with it, ive got a bit of a perversion for wiring.. :)

Best of luck boys!

Mainly fast road to be honest, not goin to extremes. May as well remove the immobiliser if you could (asked the mechanic to do this but obviously hasn't), but if problems occur from removing it, it's fine if you have to leave it on. Either way for the battery, there's no seats in the rear as you know, so whatevers easier :).

Take as long as you like pal, last thing i want to do is rush you. Oh and the grille and slam panel is still in my dam garage, I'll bring that with me when I come down to yours.

Thanks again, Andy

well been out there for an hour, to strip out some wires that aren't needed

few less wires there to worry about,

but my main concern is that the lambda plug has been removed ;)

the speed sensor wire plug has been removed :(

and there are several cables that have be cut and shut,

there is even a multiplug, with a ford logo :)

my personal view would be to replace the engine loom, and splice that to the 205 loom

thankfully the DODGY mechanic hasn't touched the 2 brown plugs.. PHEW!!!!

here are some pics anyhow

This is an ace post. It makes me warm inside reading that 2 good folks from the forum were willing to take the car and fix it. Fair play to you Spiky. Good luck with this. And of course good luck with your new arrival. :)

Awesome, can actually see the engine without a mass of wires! Shame about the wasted loom, meh! Got my eyes open for one. Doesn't have to be a Xsara VTS one specially does it? Assuming the 306 loom is identical.
