dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 On the subject of Dimma, this is for sale not too far away from me. David1982 11 1 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 That be a nice looking car. What's lurking beneath that body kit tho. Seems cheap to me.
Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 That is sadly the case with these old dimmas you never know what they are hiding but it does look nice and a good price if solid but would be very hard to confirm this unless you could drill holes from inside and use a camera. Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Not even a 1.1 shell and there is only 1 difference between my shell and a gti oh apart from I can say not one bit of rust. Edited March 1, 2016 by Juttie205
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 Yeah looks very good...... Drivers seat will be getting a refurb at some stage mind, or is it just the picture? And you could have went for matts closer to originals? One thing i notice missing which i actually have (new), is the correct plug leads (black leads with brown rubbers/insulators) and the dizzy bag. Let me know if you want to buy them! ????
Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 Do phase 2 seats not have the plastic trims on the side?
Anthony 1,000 Posted March 1, 2016 Do phase 2 seats not have the plastic trims on the side? They do, but that's a passenger seat fitted to the drivers side - hence no plastic trim and the winder knob being on that side.
speno 239 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 Not even a 1.1 shell and there is only 1 difference between my shell and a gti oh apart from I can say not one bit of rust.So all the original Dimmas were built on gti models and yours is not mmmm don't sound original then
Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 wow makes such a difference and the most famous dimma the cosworth one was not built on a gti shell either so that must not be a original then.
David1982 11 1 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) No thanks I have a dizzy bag. OE one of eBay. Really you think the seat needs to be refurbished??? Matts were from ammbassdor as a OE set was £250 and I couldn't see the value in spending £250. Edited March 1, 2016 by David1982
David1982 11 1 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 Those seats are how it came? Are they wrong then? I nave only cleaned them nothing else.

So whats your next project? Thanks mate. I have a M plate escort cosworth small turbo that was colour changed in 1998 from black to pearlescent perple. So strip down and paint it original colour and do a general light restoration.

Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted March 1, 2016 was never a fan of the escort cosworth when they came out but now I'm a bit older I think they are great but would prefer a rs500.

Yeah I'm a bit young for the rs 500 although a beast of a car. There was a escort cossie on my street when I was a teenager and ever since wanted one with a passion.
