yep, we know each other few years yet.

Here is a picture from last saturday. Street race in Mostar, a city in the south of Bosnia.

The white one 405 is Nikica, i´m in the background Later we raced against each other. Ask him for the video clip he got from me

Ahh cool, is that Nikica in his car then? I like what you've done to your car it's quite tasteful. Did it start life as an Mi16 or was it a GR or something? Where did you get the side strips from?

I shall have to ask Nicosia for this video.

Well,

I got two cars. A GLi and a white MI16. I don´t like the white colour and the standart side strips of a Mi16. GLi was graphite grey metalic. A beautifull colour. I also allready got all custom made things on my GLi so I decited to "kill" the MI16 and swap all stuff into GLi. I sold the rest of Mi16 (side skirts, strips, bumpers, ...).

 

Actually it is a real Mi16 except the side strips, which are from GLi.

 

BTW I´m looking for a "wilder" inlet cam for my baby. Not a new one. They are a little bit too expensive, a used one should do it. If anyone has a one, dont wait - tell me!

 

Here ist the clip from the Street Race. Unfortunately Nikicas t16 got problems with his clutch while changing from the 1st into 2nd, so I overtook him as you can see after the start he won.

my cable operated gear shifting mechanism got buggered in the previous race,

so i couldn't select 2nd gear in the race against sejo. i managed to put it into 3rd,

but you can see the outcome in the video clip .

 

ofcourse, later on the way back home the mechanism worked ok .

 

 

we were the only two pugs amongst 50+ cars and the most silent cars as well,

but clearly faster than a lot of cars there .

there were many golfs there (a few of them very nice) and all had 16v engines bar one .

Smart loking 405. Haven't seen one with the red rear reflector since my mate had on in 1994. I like the smooth sides with the bump strips remove.

Nah, Graphite grey is darker and was used on the 205 GTI.

 

What confuses me is the difference between steel grey and winchester grey lol

Thanks for the feedback....and sorry to make you jealous.

 

I cant beleive it myself...after having heard about peugeot paintwork and the aussie sun!!! not a match made in heaven!

 

It must have been garaged for most of its 11 years....only some sun fading to the back headrests. If i can find a leather interior.....then you'd never know!

 

Hey while i have your collective attention....can you buy a new front bumber without the gaping holes cut into it for the headlight washers?? not a real issue in aus and i think it messes up the lines at the front of the car.....and if what im saying is considered to be sacrosanct (you dont take off a factory option) then just ignore that whole paragraph.

you can just fit a normal 405 bumper on them

 

personly i like the headlight washers as they make the car stand out and they look mean as hell coming up behind you in the rear view mirror

 

i have a full leather for sale soon but aus is a bit far to ship lol

Hey Bonez....yeah mate....probably more in shipping than what you'd charge me for it ;-) But hey....thanks anyway. And i think your right...im getting peugoet to get me in some new covers for the headlight washers (bit faded). Think i'll keep it that way.

 

Which brings me convieniently to another question....the side indicator flashers in yellow......is there and aftermarket clear plastic lense you can get ?? anyone?? i think I have seen them on Vicki's car on the msg board....

for the indicators you can just get some universal clear oval (or what ever shape you want) and bosh them on

Gorgeous Kim! If you modify that car I wouldn't do anything that can't be changed back to standard at a later date.

 

11/95? As in November 1995? We didn't have a 405 Mi16 anymore by then, just the Le Mans, which I think ended in December that year.
