Nice work so far, i'd be interested in seeing how well the sunroof removal has gone - since mine has a crappy dealer fit one also.

ill put some pics up of the roof tonight. ran out of time and effort in the end so i did take the easy way out and just plated over it. but it should look half decent and deliberate in conjunction with the new colour scheme.

Twist them 45 degrees odd and then they pull out.

The door lock barrel itself? If you look inside the door, you'll see that there's a U shaped retaining piece - slide that away and the lock comes free

One of the better roof plating jobs i've seen - looks alot better than a dealer fit roof! Are you changing to a non sunroof headlining aswell?

if one crops up then yes. but for now im just going to stick some acoustic carpet fabric over it and tuck the edges into the surrounding trim.

cheap and cheerful and hides unsightly things

although i must say, the roof has about 50% more strength to it now the alli plate has been riveted on. much better than a crappy leaky heavy unsightly sunroof.

looking good. shame 205s are starting to get rusty really but the more people that take it on and beat it the better rather than just giving up

yesterday and today saw the inside getting a good lashing of filler primer ! im going to give it a few days and then lightly flat it with some wet and dry. and then on with the 2k colour.

i want to get the inside painted asap as its a git of a job, and then i can forget about it, mask it off and just get on with the rest of the car.

you have no idea lol.

i havent been as detailed as i wanted to though. if i didnt have a time limit on when its got to be done i would have taken the windscreen and dash out. but ill just have to tidy up any areas like that after.

well, todays update might just justify an edit of the threads title! the inside has been painted!

For those with poor screen resolution, the colour i went for is Fiat Abarth Campovolo Grey! (was going to do it Lunar grey from the megane r26r but pearlescent is a pig to spray)

so, pics ! cant wait till tomorow to peel off the plastic and tape!

comments welcome :)
