Yea I would too if I had the cash. I've always wanted a 309 GTI 3 door in black, but it's looking like they are a rare find nowa days, and even rarer to find one in good condition!

If only that overpriced, dead engine'd 4bie was more realistically priced...

In fact i'm starting to think the offer i got wasn't that bad now after those figures!

1 205 sorn used for two weeks in the last six years. One 5 door 309 Goodwood owned for over a year and never received any paperwork from the DVLA with no engine or box in it.

Any idea's on CTi numbers as I know these have always been lower

From what I can find, as unhelpfully they're registered under various different names, there was 268 on the road at the end of 2010 (includes the Japanese spec auto models)

For the sake of completeness, a few other models of interest as of Q4 2010...

205 STDT's = 213

205 Roland Garros = 142

205 Gentry = 81

205 CJ = 416

205 GTX = 66

309 Goodwood = 57 *

309 GTi Auto = 10 *

309 SRi = 11

Total Peugeot 205 models that were taxed at the end of 2010 was 21397

Total Peugeot 309 models that were taxed at the end of 2010 was 2917

* - I forgot to include these with the 309 GTi models in my first post, so the situation with 309 GTi's isn't *quite* as grim as it first seems - still dire though!

Since interpreting this data is far more interesting than the actual work I'm supposed to be doing (which is saying alot!) here's a few more scary figures...

Total 205 models taxed:

1994 = 374757

1995 = 370172

1996 = 366509

1997 = 353521

1998 = 335434

1999 = 314670

2000 = 286730

2001 = 256516

2002 = 218392

2003 = 177045

2004 = 140169

2005 = 105861

2006 = 76112

2007 = 55403

2008 = 40302

2009 = 28759

2010 = 21397

Total 309 models taxed:

1994 = 196741

1995 = 189831

1996 = 187126

1997 = 179576

1998 = 167628

1999 = 153101

2000 = 132616

2001 = 109308

2002 = 84023

2003 = 59696

2004 = 40580

2005 = 26233

2006 = 16019

2007 = 10099

2008 = 6581

2009 = 4268

2010 = 2917

Looking at it another way, in the past 10 years 92.5% of 205's and 97.8% of 309's have disappeared from our roads

If that doesn't paint a picture of dwindling numbers year on year, I don't know what does! :o

The number of 405Mi's left is shocking. I think i'm going to hunt for my old one and try to buy it back

Sad times, scrappage had alot answer for I think, both in terms of the actual cars traded in and the swing in peoples attitudes about what an old car is. Most 309s will have been scrapped with decent bodywork i would expect.

Thanks for taking the time Anthony.
