I chose (had) to leave Sky because they wouldn't do agreed value.

Evo II was 420quid at 8grand agreed value through HIC.

Hi, do you insure L35 post code yet?

Hi,

on our modified car scheme I'm afraid we do not.

If the car is standard or very light mods and you are aged over 30 we may be able to look at a classic car policy for you.

Thanks

Was paying the same ammount on a 306 DTurbo and they're only a group 5 car! Swapped the insurance over to the 205 from the 306 and it made no difference to the price.. ;)

Always treat insurance groupings with a big pinch of salt - my old 306 DTurbo cost me more to insure than any of the other cars I had around the same time (including a 205 1.6 GTi, 205 Mi16, 205 STDT and 405 SRi) which were all in far higher insurance groups! I'm hazarding a guess that the claim statistics on 306TD's is poor and thus they attract a significant loading by the insurers.

I'm still stunned from when you said that this afternoon, you really should phone the main companies in the insurance thread.

Unless there is another reason for the loading, it's surely not your postcode for example.

Wow.... I wouldn't be able to bring myself to pay that much insurance unless it was a Bugatti Veyron or something stupidly expensive. Have you tried ringing around at all? Or even keep the car as a project and get a rallye or something while you build up some no claims?

Ensleigh quoted me £10,000 to insure a 91 1.6 when I was 18. "Thanks, i'll bear that in mind." :)

I didn't vote as i don't have a single car policy.

But the last policy i had on my 1.6 alone was in the 300-399 bracket, which seems to be common.

The few that are paying £1500+ seriously need to shop around. (or they've got a bad record!)

This can't be so, as i'm only 19 and my insurance fully comp is £1600.. No bumps, but no No Claims Bonus. I wont find it cheaper anywhere else.. I thought that was cheap, because this time two years ago a 1.0L Mini Mayfair cost me £1500 to insure..

This is a silly poll, because as from the last poll, we determined that people on this forum age from 15 to 65.. All people have different records of driving, all live in different areas of the country, so are all going to be paying completely different insurance premiums :)

HAHA ;)

Compare the Meerkat.. The first two quotes were under 2k, then from there after avaraged about 8 grand! Twisted system, i think insurance is picked out of the air

When I insured my 205 Gti6 I phoned Flux 3 times and every time the qutes got cheaper started at £1800 then ended up being £1340. Work that one out???

I just renewed. Previously with Flux who wanted £100 more this year which prompted a new search.

On a recommendation I rang Heritage Insurance and dealt with an excellent guy. I now have a specialist policy with Chaucer with a 200xs, windscreen cover, legal and personal protection and best of all unlimited track day coverage all for £352 for the year. £100 less than Flux who wanted a £500 XS and extra for every track day.

The other bonus is that because its a specialist/classic policy I havent had to use any of my 10 years no claims which leaves them for my impending M5 purchase.

Thats like me got caught doing 107mph on the motorway in a nova with redtop engine, and now im off the ban it's £900 to insure my 205. Instead of the £348. Only got myself to blame ... but it's coming up to 5 years next year so i wont have to inform them lol.
