Great work - subscribed !! Will have a read through of the entire thread when time allows..

Alt looks like a Denso, popular with Rodders, but Googling suggests that one (100211-1670) is a 40a. More here, but they get crazy pricey.. http://www.brise.co.uk/Denso/

One of the comments about the little uns is they only generate power at higher revs, but I guess the right pulley could overcome that..!

That's the fella! The 40/45 amp ones done start making power until they're above about 2k from memory, similar to most alternators. Edited by allanallen

You'll have fun getting in and out with those door bars and gussets! Mines hard enough! But great work though.

Got me gussets.....

Also decided to bung up all the factory floorpan holes and in a moment of laziness got laser cutter fired up at work and chopped out some discs to make my life a bit easier...

Ello chaps..

Remember them discs??

Got the floor holes filled in:

FB_IMG_1462892889556_zpswydgqsho.jpg

Then got a load more cut at 20mm round and with the aid of a step drill started going round the inner wings opening everything up to 20mm and plugging them all up:

Finally bit the bullet and took the lip RIGHT off the scuttle area too, the cage blocks off the std drain points so there was a risk of the scuttle becoming a bird bath:

Finally, the wishbone gusset things are all welded in:

Brace yaself... its a biggy...

Spits out! (Just like your missus):

As always Robin Hunter was called in to move the shell with his covered trailer, and it was fitted up on the spit:

Then Zane and his 2 helper set to on the underside, my prep work saved him a lot of time (and me money) and after a bit of thinners and scotchbrite was applied the bay and underside was in the bay for a coat of etch and 2 coats of high build primer..

This morning i popped down to the bodyshop to take the shell off the rotisserie and back onto the dolly for the final prep and painting to be done..

Couldnt resist wheeling it outside for a look in the sunlight..

I can't tell you how long I've waited for this thing to have its final assembly. Watching all those shiny thins being bolted into primer for years!

Zane and the boys have been kicking on... the outside needed a fair bit of TLC, 20+ years have left its toll on the 3/4s...

And once they're given some attention, its etch and high build primer...
