Air metering 1.9 GTI
David Simson posted a topic in XU 8v Engine Maintenance and Performance Upgrades
I have a 1.9 GTI. It is running very rich and my trusted mechanic is unable t adjust the fuel / air mixture. It is also idling at 1,500 revs. He advises me it is the air meter which is non-responsive. I also need a fuel filer bracket. And someone has fitted an aftermarket air filter and I want a standard one. If anyone can help with sourcing these parts I would be very grateful. Thank you -
So I'm trying to find some new compensators for the rear of my 1.9 GTi and so far I've had no luck. Any recommendations of where to find any please? I'm also anticipating having to change the brake lines at the same time so I'm also after recommendations for what type of brake hose to buy. I've no idea if there's anything better than standard copper hose that won't rust and is easy to form. To go with the above, i'll also need a new pipe flaring tool as the one I have is cheap rubbish! Thanks

Hi all, im a proud owner of a 205 1.9 gti! She's done about 124000 miles and im thinking of have it stripped and re-built! Whilst i was gonna have this done i was wondering what upgrades i could do to make it faster/run better! I dont think i could afford going down the turbo route (not that i'd know how much that would cost anyhow) so any advice or examples of the upgrades you lot have made would be most welcome! Cheers.
