the challenge cage is a real good piece of kit. What are the rules re modifying a cage if its to blue book pictures? Would like to add some extra bars if i can.

That';s a challenge cage above (C44) I have 3 of them and a C12, even the old C12's aren't as bad as you say though.

I guess you could add the extra bars you needed if to blue book spec, don't see why not as long as the tubing & welding is up to scratch, but i'd enquire with an MSA scrute beforehand if it were me though. :)

The front leg pick up point on the c44 cage is similar to the OMP and, imo, is a much better solution than the front leg pick up on the 6 point SD cage. I have only seen the version in the fitting guide on the main 205 drivers site, so it may have changed.

Anyway, i'll ring a scruit and ask about adding to the OMP cage, but safe in the knowledge it will be fitted properly.

I'll post pictures when it comes.

Well its here! It cost £295 delivered and i'm really happy with it. Welding is spot on, no surface rust, and according to the instuctions, FIA approved cages can have extra bars added to the same material spec. I have still got to check with a scruit though.

I'll take some pictures of the trial fit tomorrow!

Trial fitted it today to mark the position of the brackets. It went straight in, on my own, with no straps or brute force required. Its a perfect fit and i'm well chuffed with it. Didn't have chance to take pictures but I promise I will!

YB racing. Although I had heard a few rumours of poor customer service, and no phone number to call, it turned up in 4 days. Can't fault them.

Bad news is, and the reason I kept quiet until it was here, there has been a big price rise to reflect the Euro exchange rate. Its about £100 dearer now. Didn't want them to up the price as I think the web prices should have changed before I ordered it.

The discount code earlier in this thread still gets you 10% discount though.

In NZ it's illegal to have a bolt in cage.

It's super strick here with cages, we get alot of jap imports with half and full cages and they all have to be removed to be legal here. Something about the thickness of the tubing or something.

Tech. regulations are a mine field I want to stay out of!

Anyway, you might not be allowed a bolt in, but who cares when Imprezas and Skylines are cheap as chips!

Seems like you were lucky they had one in stock.

Is was YB Racing that forced me to become an OMP distributor as they were so s*it at updating me and were making key decisions without informing me of what they were doing...like I was ordering one colour racesuit for a team, and they decided to order a different colour in two suits in the largest size as that was in stock. I lost a big corporate customer due to them so i'm a tad bitter.

I bought some gloves from then on ebay, I realised I had ordered the wrong style. I emailed them saying so and the pair I actually wanted were more expensive and I was happy to pay the extra but they never replied and just sent the gloves out I had won.

My fault I know but you'd expect an email back at least.

Also got an OMP pad set from them before for the civic and the rear pads were wrong. They hadn't listed the part numbers correctly.

£295 is stonking - I can't even get one delivered for that (even before any € price rises).

they seem to get a special discount from OMP as they are a big distributor.

Sucks eh!

Glad I was lucky as I had heard awful rumours of customer service problems.

Need a pair of seats though, and they have put their prices up.

If you guys fancy giving me a price I am after some OMP RS in black. PM me if you can help.

Cheers,

Pete
