i really want to make in one piece but i have to get it through an sva and im not sure they will let me as the screen has to be mounted solidly

 

off hand i couldn't tell you what grade steel its a low carbon mild steel. general structural stuff.

 

my background is in locosts and we use it all the time.

 

I'm designing it so all loads are transmitted down the tunnel and the rest of it is lightweight structure to keep me safe. this way we keep all the 'heavy' struture is inboard and around the center of gravity
