They have done me good, other bits and bobs ie bolts and washers that only come in bags of ten they have thrown in:rolleyes: If you want any of these for your rebuild let me know and you can have them for postage costs. The torsion bars I have gone for are the partner ones as one of the 309 ones is no longer available and I think they were abougt £120 for a pair. The seals are only 4 quid or so. Gonna source a gti6 ARB from some where next.

from experience, i rebuilt a 309 beam, and the only parts that weren't new, were the tbs, arb and trailing arms

so in all, it owed me about £650

sold for £375 :wacko::)

After I have rebuilt this one someone would have to chop my arm off to get hold of it coz I aint letting it go :wacko: Crazy prices but saves me from decorating the house!!

Yeh sure, thanks for that and the info on it all !

Will the partner torsion bars need to be made smaller or is it a straight fit ?

Also will the gti6 ARB fit straight in as well ?

Send us your payment details via PM for postage & cost, ie paypal.

There is a thread about 21.3 mm torsion bars in this section. According to that they fit no mods and they have the part no which is what I ordered. Same for the gti6 ARB I think but would like some one to confirm for my purchase!! ( Baz, anthony :ph34r: ) Will sort PM out in the next few days and post pt no etc.

306 ARB won't fit without modification.

What mod's or alternate ARB do you require/ can you use?

No they are too long as standard. All i did with mine was chop it down and weld one of the end plates on. Obviously when you do this you need to ensure the other endplate is fitted and both are flat and level, as you have no adjustment when you put it in the beam. You could get it resplined, but to me this was alot of hassle and money for a part i paid a tenner for, and ive had no problems so far with the welded one.

yeah that swhat i did was weld the end plate on, cut to the right length then i also ground the bar small enought to fit inside the old splined section of end plate. I then plug welded the bar to the end plate and mig welded all round the outer lip too. You will need to turn the wleder right up to get the propper penetraition into the bar and make sure its totally square before weldin
