Best Wiring Diagrams, Or Using Haynes Manual

My wiring needs some attention, I’m using the trusty Haynes manual but am I missing something, the wires coming out of the fuses box on the connectors are labelled A B C D Etc but it don’t sat which one is A B C D. so when I want to check wiring I don’t know which wire is what coming out the fuse box. Managed to find a few of the ones I need by checking with a meter between the fuse and connectors and using the wiring colours but there must be an easier way or am I too use to main dealer diagrams.
