Vin Plate

Recommended Posts

As the title really.

I found out what was causing all the rattle when i out the fan blower on, as well as needing a bit of wd40 on the spindle my vin plate fell out when i pulled the fan out the bottom of the heater box!

Where should it be positioned on the car so i can put it back.

I have no idea,

I cant see another vin plate so im guessing that this is the right one for the vehicle.

Well i checked the vin to the paperwork and its correct.

No idea how the hell it got in there though.

Don't forget the VIN is also stamped on the shell on the forward edge of the front scuttle panel by the master cylinder.

That's either a different car or someone who doesn't know what they're talking about... :)

The only place it's stamped into the bodyshell is on the scuttle adjacent to the VIN plate

might mean on a CTI where they seem to have a shell number under the boot carpet?
