1.6 Fly Wheel

Recommended Posts

Rich_p

I am shortly going to be fitting a be3 1.6 box to the 309 (it already has a 1.6 box but the incorrect be1)

Will I really notice any difference if we fit a 1.6 flywheel at the same time?

Or am I best using the money elsewhere on the car?

The engine is a standard 1.9 lump btw.

You may as well if you've got access to it? Are there actually any disadvantages to lighter flywheels, if you're not a moron who keeps stalling their car?

Yes they do make a difference through 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and not so much after that. Doesn't affect the idle at all, it's still pretty heavy compared to a "light" flywheel, but a massive improvement on the slab of metal the 1.9 fly is.
