Choke Manual Or Auto

Recommended Posts

Guest new2gti

Hi I write to u guys again asking my simple questions?

My last post was that my car wont start but now it does but dont seem to want to tick over for very long?

I have a 205 gti 1.9 on a G plate is it manual or automatic choke?

If its automatic then that explains why i cant find the choke knob?

If it is manual where should i find the choke near the dash board as i cant find it anywhere? I have found a hole what looks like there should be something there this is near the ignition where u turn the key?

Please help :)

It is an INJECTION car so does not have a "choke" as such. It has a warm-up stage controlled by the engine management system to raise the revs whilst the car warms up.

Poor idling or cold starting problems are very very very common on 205 GTI's and have been covered MANY MANY times, you need to do a search with the words idle problems or similar to help you sort it out.
