Cts Style Plugs... Reuseable?

Recommended Posts

KRISKARRERA

Can't remember their proper name now but they're the plugs that connect the loom to injectors and coolant temp sensor etc.

Anyway, my blue one (CTS) is cracked and it likes to fly off at 7000rpm. I've got a spare plastic bit but is it possible to get the terminals out of the old cracked blue plug and jam them into my spare one? If you get what I mean.

I think the proper name is a Junior-timer 2 pin connector.

Yes you can dismantle the pins from the housing and refit them, you need a terminal depinning tool as there is a small tab to flatten which allows them to pop out.

Alternatively Vehicle Wiring Products sell new housings and pins cheaply enough so you can DIY.

I had to do the very same thing on every injector plug on my Mi loom buddy, they do come apart, but for the life of me i can remember from which end you need to insert a tool into it to get the tab bent so the leads can be pulled..

You can use a very small flat blade screwdriver to do it with, the jewellers type are perfect.

you can remove the wires, use a big nappy pin pushed in from the connector side, not the wire side.
