sorry to bring this topic back from the dead..

 

i'm looking to adjust the dizzy cap myself. do i just turn it a little bit clockwise (when looking at the engine from the dizzy cap side), then tighten it and go for a drive - and repeat untill i hear a pinking noise, then turn it anti-clockwise (again from dizzy side) a little bit?

ahh, since posting this question i was looking in an old timing thread and read that it is the way i described..

 

standing at the front of the engine bay i need to rotate the dizzy away from me to advance, right?
