in fact these are the front and rear shocks i want

just need to find the cheapest place :)

front

http://www.specialtuninguk.co.uk/acatalog/...op_Spindle.html

rear

http://www.specialtuninguk.co.uk/acatalog/...309_Gravel.html

after searching

I know allot of people run the Group 'N' or otherwise known as the challenge spec items are

Front; Group 'N' Front Bilstein strut's F4-V36-0547-H0

Rear; Group 'N' dampers F4-B46-1038-H0

The front's use the std dia spring which can be anything from Eibach to Gmax

I want to change to these shocks, just trying to justify more money spent on the 205 at the moment though :)

Would the fronts work o.k with koni rear shocks for now? I am using a 309 rear beam and will be using 309 shafts and bones btw

Basically now Bilstein only supply one rear damper, the 1038's which cover both 205, 309 & 306, Not sure what special tuning etc supply now but I bet it's the same one listed for Greval or Tarmac.

I can;t remember which of the front insert's are stocked by Bilstein now, as I know one of them needed a min order of about 50 unit's.

Another option but more expensive is the AST's, these have been developed in the last few yr's compared to the billies and as everything, thing's progress

Miles, do you know anything about the 1039's as my mate was sold these as group N which theyare not and they seem really soft. Any idea what they are. :)

Cheers,

Explains why his part numbers don't match mine, fronts aswell he has just sport shocks rather than group N.

He got them from demon thieves aswell...

These are listed as 205 1.0 > 1.9GTi's and derv's B6 Front Dampers along with the 309 GTi, which we know is wrong as the damper's don;t really fit the base models

The insert seems a bit expensive. The "normal" price is / was £121. Are the springs the PTS 70mm (I think) size ? If yes, it might be worthwhile changing to 2 1/4" as the springs are more readily available and are around £20 each. This would mean using different tophats and lower spring pan though.

Go to Peter Lloyds in Bridgend he has most of what you need on the shelf and his prices are usually v. competitive. Also look at www.compbrake.co.uk for prices on new strut cases and other hardware.
