Blimey, I wish I'd stayed logged in last night as I missed all this interest.

I'll give you some more info and see if you're all still interested.

 

As before:

 

Good head + fast road Catam (4901133, 280deg duration, 10.85mm lift)

Weber 38DGAS + box full of jets, venturis etc with Ramflo filter. No choke butterflies.

Brand new H&H recurved dizzy + new leads

CSC 4-2-1 manifold + CSC centre silencer + CSC backbox

306 dt front calipers + braided brake lines

Jamex front struts with Gmax springs, Gmax rear shocks, rear lowered a lot. No LOO with this baby.

Also;

Brand new 406 m/c with DOT 5 brake fluid

1.6 gti alloys with recent Bridgestone RE720s on the front and Pirelli p6000s on the back.

Recent replacement gearbox and new 3 piece clutch kit.

 

I removed the strut brace and wheel from the list as I want to keep them for future 205s.

 

The interior is in very good condition.

 

There is no rust on the body whatsoever, but there are 3 dents.

1) Ripple in the passenger door, there when I bought it.

2) knee sized/shaped dent on the tailgate, there when I bought it.

3) drivers side rear panel dented when some clumsy goon in a Golf reverersed into me.

 

None of these affect the driving of the car and I hardly notice their appearance.

 

I have gone a bit chav-tastic and put some stickers on it, including PTS stickers on the grill and t16 font "205" stickers on the side and rear. Sorry.

 

The car has done over 160K miles and still pulls very strongly, up to 7000rpm.

It uses no water, doesn't smoke as far as I can tell and uses about 1 litre of oil every 1000 miles, which I consider just about acceptable.

 

It drives great, recently RRd at 97bhp at fly, curves to prove it. Due to the cam/carb combo, driveability below 2000rpm isn't great and as I've removed the choke butterflies, it isn't much fun when cold. Having said that, I used to drive it mid-winter with no problems and after 5 mins or so, it's fine.

If all that gets you down, stick it in 2nd or 3rd at 5000rpm and you'll soon forget about such niggles!!

 

I've posted this in this thread due to the interest shown, if this is wrong, please accept my apologies and I'll post it in the "For Sale" section.

 

Currently SORNd and in a mates garage in Crawley, West Sussex. Still has MOT till July I think.

 

£350 as is, or I can get a years MOT and 6 months tax for £500.

It passed last year with no advisories and the emissions would have passed the CAT test.

Mani (with brand new unused 2ndaries/collector) - £75

CSC Centre box pro-welded to good standard pipe - £50

CSC Backbox - £25

 

I almost forgot, it also has a GE quickshift on the gearbox linkage. It isn't set very short, just tightens things up a bit.

Sorry guys! I am still keen to sell it whole as apart from the sadness, I really can't be arsed to have it disintegrating on my drive.

Actually, the few miles I drove with the 4-2-1 and a fairly standard cam, the car felt very good. The hotter cam killed low speed driveability, but now it sings to 7500rpm.
