tombo

well it has been in serious consideration.... the old man wants to go halfs on a track car, he really wants a caterham/westfield type option, im trying to talk the 205 efforts into him with affordable track day fun being the strongest point.

hmmmm i may need all your assitance to get this to happen, im thinking possibly a miami blue gti?

well been a while since i did and update, few little changes :)

took the engine out to change the gearbox back the 1.9 and change clutch

though after i took the clutch off, i found it was brand new, so didnt bother

first of all i sold all my light C5 steelie wheels,

so far i have bought 2 sets of replacements

set 1

comp-mo.jpg

set 2

teamdynamic.jpg

the main reason for the change, is for a slight change of calipers that i'm trying

IMG_0844.jpg

need to get some decent pads but will use whats in there for now

i have bought a new steering wheel, as i thought the car deserved one :), so bought this

steeringwheel.jpg

also decided that innacurate speedo just doesn't do it, so have decided to ditch the standard clocks and the SPA gauges

and bought a stack dash :D , got a it for a good price and it's the 8310P so does pretty much everything

oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, fuel level, fuel pressure, oddometer and various other features :)

so i have bought some carbon fibre to mount it, but here is a trial mockup useing cardboard

dash.jpg

you think thats enought?

well no..lol

one last update to all that :D

i have sold the ITB's and DTA ecu :( bye bye sound :(

and bought this setup :D

engine2.jpg

all hoses and silicone will be going black (awaiting deleivery )

IMG_0841.jpg

can fit the panel back on to, so it's kinda back to standard :)

I think you are going to have some serious fun

I've just got a digi dash myself. They make sense once you look at the full cost of buying multiple high quality dials

Surprised you didn't keep the DTA to run it to be honest, I know Rich does the ready mapped ecu's for low boost but every engines different at the end of the day

Looking very good Spiky. We are now using the same front elise brakes. I am using padgid ceramic pads with mine i highly rate them although they are circa £150 a set. What ET are the wheels your using iirc the elise brakes require a 12mm spacer for clearance. Im looking into some alloy belled disks for the elises as the only thing that lets them down imo is the weight of the hdi disc.

Would have been ideal, but needed to get back as much as I could to fund the sc conversion

Ahh fair enough, should still go like the clappers! B)

Any plans to beef up the drivetrain? I think Garry had trouble with his driveshafts and now runs modified 306 ones.

Both wheels have good caliper clearance, so hoping I don't need spacers, not tried them yet, do that on the weekend

Undecided on pads for now

As my engine sits at correct angle and most of the 306 guys have little issues, I'm hoping I should be ok for a while, else I will look at sorting it :)

The inlet is the same as a 306 so it gives you an idea how much angle changing does :)

Yeh hopefully they'll be ok then, if they're decent quality shafts to start with I'm sure with mechanical sympathy they'll last.

Hoping to get over to do a few more Combe trackdays this year, plus I like the look of Pembrey! You got any booked?

No plans yet, just trying to find time to get it finished

Just had twins so time isn't on my side lol

Pembrey is ok, was a little disappointed, as I thought it was bigger, bigger than landow, and would do again :)

Depend how you drive, if you drive like miss daisy it probably won't make much difference, I certainly noticed the extra grip :)
