:S That's about my worst nightmare TBH! The occasional alloys are Compomotive CXR 7x15's.

Looks much better without :) , they're not that bad on there, seems to have been taken over by 106/306 Rallyes nowadays!

I've got a copy saved, can upload to photobucket if o.k with Sandy. BTW, Sandy took me for a trip up the road in it at the weekend.....I still grin when thinking about it! AWESOME and the video doesn't do it justice

I don't have time to do much to my own car with all the commitments I currently have, but I've was recently been gifted a 1993 H22A, which I'm going to build up to a fresh spec for the 309. My H22A7 will also be rebuilt to go in my pal's 205 soon so I'll be able to make some close comparisons of the precise differences between the two, hopefully clearing up a few lingering questions in the process!

The first thing I did was weigh it. Without starter/box/alternator, manifolds or mounts, it came in at 125kg. Quite a bit lighter than I expected and about the same as an alloy block Mi16. I'd previously approximated my H22A7 at 150kg with manifolds/mounts etc, but on less than ideal scales; i'll weigh it again when it comes out more accurately.

The head bolts were a bit sticky and the crank pulley bolt was a gas and 6ft bar job, but apart from that, the usual Honda "click....finger tight" bolts, a refreshing change from the endless ratcheting/rattling usually required on Peugeot bolts!

The ports look smaller than the H22A7 to me, but I'm glad about that, it gives me options. The head is really easy to dismantle, clearly designed by engineers with maintenance in mind!

The bores aren't ferrous by the way, they would appear to be reinforced alloy of some description.

Cams etc:

3 angle inlet seats, throat match isn't brilliant, this is where the A7 is hand finished:

The laws of physics apply equally to pigs and engines when breathing so its not entirely surprising that the same shape works for both ;)
