So! Who's Confused By The Vems Wbo2 Wiring?

you need the 5V lambda as it is a wideband...narrowband lambda's use 1volt setting.

ofcourse Hilgert.

3V means that lambda 1.0 = 3V and 1.5 should be 5V... or something like that.

that's not suitable for my MegaSquirt but i have already discovered what is :(.

hmm i can't connect to the gauge!

i've tried both with my new laptop using USB<>RS232 connector and

with an old one with serial ports. i've tried COM1-COM10, at 19200 bps

and at various other speeds (just in case) but MegaTune always returns

"No Connection!" :).

i've not tried to connect to MS1 through MegaTune yet, but i've managed

to update the firmware ok via both laptops, so something's telling me

it's down to the gauge... or *perhaps* MegaTune.

by the way, i've installed a standard version of MegaTune (not the one

supplied by VEMS), placed round.ini into the folder with ini files and

edited megatune.ini to be able to include it (the screen loads fine).

any ideas?! i need to log into it to adjust settings asap!

thanks.

I seem to remember the megatune saying "no connection" even when it was recieving a signal . I did use the combination of the VEMS version of megatune + the normal version though. I'll have a look if i get a chance tonight.

Also, I think you need to wait for the gauge to run through it's startup procedure before it outputs any signal. :P

well, yesterday i thought i'd see if the dos firmware update program would connect to it - it did

(and updated the firmware) and then MegaTune also managed to successfully connect to the

gauge and give me live readouts :DB).

i've also adjusted the lambda output voltage the way i wanted it and adjusted the EGT scale

in MegaTune from 0-255'C to a more useful range.

i'm a happy bunny :), now i just need to somehow feed it with RPM input to make useful logs

and add an IAT (inlet air temp) too.

p.s. what EGT values has everyone got? i get about 360'C on idle now, about 400 when revving,

still have to drive the car and monitor lambda and EGT, to see what the standard map is like.

thanks :).
