Bloody Barn Finds

Recommended Posts

Barn finds are just too common now , to be exclusive you need the' car at the bottom of a lake' storyline . The Bugatti that spent 70 years at the bottom of a Swiss lake was hauled up and sold for $360,000 !

There's a Clio Williams 1 on fleabag as a barn find. Even has a close-up picture of a cobweb on it to authenticate its status.

Strictly speaking I think the National Barn Find Association should be called in to check this is for real.

The thread starter wasn't happy with the replies so they locked it and then a mod removed it.

I liked it. I have to admit I was surprised by all the negative comments.

Nothing surprises me on this.

Some people can't stand of them not being the focus of attention.

nearly as good as that vw camper that was found in a lake after years then was lightly restored and driven.

Sorry spent a lot of the morning looking for a 205 and was not a happy bunny with the words people use to try and sell their 205 and also the absolute stupid prices they are asking for a 205 that is just an average 205. There is a super rare one for £12,990!!!!!!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271465350958

forgot to add sorry rant over :-P

WHAAAAT!?!?! surely there is a law about lying that badly about how rare a car is (when it very much isnt) and trying to rip some poor punter off!!

In NZ Jap imports are dime a dozen as most NZ cars come in 2nd hand from japan. Plus Jap cars are auto, have a low compression engine, cat converter and are low spec with no leather. Plus they all have heavy power steering and A/C...... yuk

My first reaction is WTF?!.. And although it may have been trailed out of a barn, It's not my idea of a barn find. However, if I was looking for a 205 track hack, and was offered the likes of this for... say £300, I'd take a chance on it!.. I'm guessing the scrap merchant has gave little for it, and isnt in the breaking business, so probably would welcome a quick sale!... There's nothing super rare about it as far as 205's go either. It could turn out to be a heap, but on the other a power wash, polish and quick once over could turn it into the perfect little track toy!..

..oh, and a bit crude with the fork lift!..

this for instance is not a barn find.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-1-9-GTi-3dr-genuine-barn-find-/231212041298?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35d54fc452

More like been sat in someones back garden for years. unless the barn did not have a roof. I find it hard that a farmer was unable to weld so riveted the sunroof.

Can i just go back to one of my early posts and why i posted are your serious. This 205 has not been in a barn. Moss doesnt grow that well in a barn!

plus check the rear drivers wheel out. ouch!

Agreed, that has been exposed to water running down it, most likely rain. The rear wheel is just the trim hanging off, the wheel looks to be in the correct position.

All the wheels are straight, there is just a bit of trim hanging loose on the rear quater.

when you have given it a t-cut and polish please post a pic up so i can be completely shocked. its cars that look like that, that with a clean and a polish look brand new. yes your right it is the trim, it just looked like it was facing the wrong way. my bad.

not from a barn though.

Apparentley it was from an open barn near Canterbury, i'm not to fussed where it was from to be honest, I'm just glad i finally managed to get one that's structurally sound (or at least looks it)..... lol
