New project. I've had Mk1 Fiestas and Golfs. Always wanted a 205 Gti, so here we go!!

New sill and lower part of the quarter need a little attention!!

Don't suppose anyone has a lower part of a quarter they would part with???

Fingers crossed, it shouldn't take too long. It's been sat in the last owners garage for ten years, so needs a bit of tlc!

Last owner had it for ten years, so this is what took it off the road, all them years ago. He also took most of the paint off. So it can have a bare metal job later.

That's pretty much all the grot tbh.

Just need a passenger wing, then decide if I'll replace the front panel or not. I'm guessing it was chopped to get the engine in and then patched up. Then fresh paint! Really looking forward to getting this back on the road!

Garage is full of bits, still need a few more. Started on the sill repair. I'll probably drop the engine out, but I couldn't face it today!!

A fair bit of grot under the drivers pedals. Looks like a poor accident repair, or the drivers wheel has come off at some point and damaged the wheel arch. Rear bumper hangers need doing, behind the headlamps and repair where a Dimma kit was. I'll have to drop the engine out aswell, which I'll have build enthusiasm for!!

Bits farmed off an old quarter.

Cleaned the rear arch out. Found grot under the bumper hanger, so that has been cut out, as has the area around the earthing point.

Ok I'll stick my hand up - when I saw your first posts I thought no chance and after 6 months of you finding more and more rot and bodging in some bad plates this'll end up in the for sale section.

But I was clearly wrong - It certainly looks like you have the expertise to get this back together as a good solid car.

Hats off to you.

I'll keep an eye on this thread with interest.

Excellent work, need to see more and more of this instead of scrapping at the first sign of a bubble.
