Help! :) Wiring Up A Xu10J4R (Rfv) - Bosch Mp 5.2

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am trying to put a RFV (XU10J4R) into my 205 with its original ecu and loom. The ECU is a Bosch MP 5.2 (0 261 204 833) - it comes from an automatic 306 cabriolet.

What I am doing for a start is removing the siemens auto box ECU wiring from the loom. I have done so by cutting 8 wires (and two earths) - 3 of the wires go to the round multiplugs (a pink to the small one, a purple and a grey one to the larger multiplug) and 5 go to the 5.2 ECU. Using a test light and battery I determined which pin each of the 5 wires goes to and using the autodata pdf attached here ( http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=116827 ) I came up with following, which I need help in understanding.

Wire | Destination | Autodata diagram destination

________|____________|_________________________________

1. (white) - goes to pin 31 - which isn't the autodata chart attached.

2. (white) - goes to pin 23 - goes to the AC clutch relay.

3. (white) - goes to pin 6 - Tachometer and Data Link Connector

4. (yellow) - goes to pin 13 - Data Link Connector

5. (green) - goes to pin 16 - Data Link Connector

So here are my first questions:

1.) What is the Data Link Connector,

2.) Does the PDF look correct?

and

3.) Why does the knock sensor attach to the loom through the gearbox ECU? Once I have cut the gearbox loom connectors off (the 8 wires) the knock sensor goes with it

Can you please point me in the right direction? And does anyone have a proper ECU pinout for the 5.2?

Regards,

Michael

Data link connector is the EOBD (diagnostic) plug.

Thanks Andy.

Has anyone wired up one of these before? (Edit: I mean an Auto one.)

Should be no different other than possibly a gear lever switch.

does anyone know how to wire up the rev counter on this management? ive tried but to no avail. according to the diagram my coil pk has 12v wire 115, and then switched 12v, wires 113, and 114 back to the ecu. this did not like the dioded loom and stopped the car from running.

cheers for any help in advance

I cannot understand what you dont understand?

well in my original post I put the dioded loom method did not allow my car to run.

and you replied with same as any other conversion.

Does that mean all other conversions have this problem? probably not. Hence me asking for knowledgeable people to shed some light on it.

thanks

That has nothing to do with the running of the engine.
