Probably take the Focus over the Clio but I like them both. Old school probably a R5 Turbo or Mk1 Golf GTI.

Quite like the Williams..Had a 106 GTI from new which was fantastic to be honest. I don't know if I got a good one but it really could pick up its feet and handled fantastic. Would like to try a Trophy and can see me searching one out in the near future.

Not driven one, but I've also always fancied a Renault 5 Gordini Turbo (in blue).

On the old school side of things, apart from my current 205, i've always loved the MK1 Golf GTI. When i was younger i used to own a R5GTT, which was my 1st foray into French cars and got me interested in the whole modified scene. Loved that car. A few years back i also owned a Series 2 Escort RS Turbo, which i'd always wanted to try and found it another fantastic classic.

On the modern side, i've personally got a soft spot for the MK1 Focus RS, but that's because i've owned one since 2006 and it's had a fair bit spent on a custom spec race engine, carbon fibre parts, etc. I also used to own a Phase 2 Clio V6 a few years back which put a big smile on my face, but i sold that before the mammoth task of belts/pulleys/etc was due.

What kind of power is that Focus putting out Alex? I'd love one of those, just a little out of my price range right now.

I owned a RS turbo once, and it had 12000 miles on the clock and in six years when i sold it i only put another 12 on it. It was same red as the one on here and it was a minter. I had it chipped and it did'nt half go, very nice piece of kit.

I wish I could afford to have two cars, I would definnetly get a turbo i.e., but there aren't almost none left original over here.

Actually, now that I think about it , most sport versions of hatches here are far from their original state, even tough any change to the car in anyway is illegal over here ( right down to the kind of lightbulbs you use in it lol).

But most 106 gti's , civics Vtec and cars like that you see during night time are putting out more than 160 bhp.

What kind of power is that Focus putting out Alex? I'd love one of those, just a little out of my price range right now.

The last time it was on the rollers in 2011, it made 416bhp @ the flywheel / 354.5bhp @ the wheels / 434lb/ft torque / 32psi of boost. That's on a GT28 turbo setup with Autronic ECU, fully forged engine setup, custom inlet, etc.

I must admit i've been thinking of putting it back on the road this year, but i've been enjoying the Pug so much recently the RS just spends its time stored away.

Escort RS 1600i - A friend worked for Fords at Dagenham and had one of the first off the production line, never had so much fum round the lanes of Kent and Essex..... On 4 wheels anyway

Renault 5 Turbo - Had 2 of them as company cars, what a scream when you're not paying for the engine rebuilds. Roller skate with a rocket strapped to it

But still my favourite was my 205 GTI company car - 1.6, Black, lowered 30mm front and back, everything done to make it the best. I treated it like it was my own and it was coming up to 3 years old and I was going to buy it off the company. When I returned from Holiday one of the Salesmen had bought it from them behind my back..... Absolute Scumbag. He got his cumuppance at his leaving do......Slipped in the Gents and landed in the urinal apparently.

I used to have a 2006 225 Cup, that was agreat hot hatch, but the 172 Cup i had before that was more fun to drive.

But the most fun car i've ever driven (205 aside) was a saxo vts that my mate used to have..Loved it!

Clio William 1 - has the plaque on the dashboard and is the original. Williams 2 and 3 were marketing ploys with the 3 coming with ABS etc.

Nearly bought one 2 years ago.

Are they significantly different in terms of engine/brakes/suspension?
