Yep,Ill check mine tomorrow.Pretty sure there 1038's.

I bought front and rear 2nd hand(not been used on car though)and rang Bilstein Uk up to check that what was advertised was deffinatly the proper GP/N motorsport shocks, and they were.

Maybe they also do GP/A version which can only be different rebound rates etc.Think they charge £80+vat to recon or change rates

Yeah they're quite dear to re-con,I remember getting a quote to have a pair of the old style gravel spec ones done. I ended up replacing them with something else!

I've possibly found some 306 gravel rears (500/275) now, close enough to the original Tarmac spec (or GRPAs nowadays?!?) for me :) oh yeah, they're yellow aswell :D

If they are for the 309 allan, skip browns recommended the 306 tars for the back on mine as the 309 shocks are now obsolete.

Well that confuses things even more!!

Batfink gets the 2319s as 460/250 and it's generally regarded that the 1038s are 350/200.

I tried identifying a pair of billy rears with Bilstein uk last week, I quoted the part no that's printed on a sticker on the main body..... They hadn't got a clue what it was?!!

Sorry that's the one I meant 023139, it's the one batfink lists as group A on his website.

This is all looking very confusing!

To add even more complication i've spoken to bilstein uk about the shocks i bought from craig007 last week and they came back with this...

K4-BE5-60318T0 PEUGEOT 205 GRP.A RALLYE

0,39 m/s =

6.000 +/- 630 N

3.000 +/- 330 N

Ressurection!

Trying to get to the bottom of what I actually have on the rear now :/

B46-1038 is stamped on the side. The Bilstein cataloague lists these as 248/157 which is different again from everything I have read lol :D

Under the motorsport section of the catalogue there is nothing listed for 306 and the B46-2313 are shown as 350/200... screenshot attached below.. the shocks for the 106 are shown as stiffer 476/277. Will 106 dampers fit a 205?

edit: right most 3 columns are the rear dampers.

post-8625-0-23705800-1440105965_thumb.jpg

edit2: worth nopting they all have a note of 38 after the damping spec which relates to damping force @ 0.29 or 0.39m/s according to the catalogue. It just says 'or' not which one it actually is, unless I'm missing something? I believe older spec damping rates were @ 1m/s which is where some of the confusion could be coming from?

Well that confuses a confusing subject even more! Are you running 1038s with 25mm bars then Henry?

All I know from using them is the 2313s have more rebound damping over the 1038s, the 306 tarmacs have more again too, they're incredibly firm!

yes Allan. I've had them a fair few years now before all the real development started. But I replaced a set of yellows, probably b6, with what I thought were the stiffest available. Tarmac spec bla bla. Was on 23mm at the time and 4post rig test at uni showed very good control. Now on 25 but didn't realise stiffer were available! Stupid me. Going to see if kev has any stock and whether 306 ones are available.

Allan,

Don't suppose you know whether 106 rear dampers are a direct fit on the 205? The B46-1276 106 dampers are shown as alot stiffer according to the catalogue than the 205 equivalent.

Kam racing has them as well listed under "Peugeot 106 - Bilstein Group N Tarmac Dampers"

Even the gravel ones are alot stiffer according to the Bilstein catalogue. 460/250 as apposed to a minor increase for tarmac: 476/277. Hmmm this seems to be a bit of a mine field.

edit: I give up.... the online bilstein catalogue lists the 106 mtorosport dampers, the B46-1276 or part number 24-012768 as 290/180.... confused ahah

I can find out for definite the damping rates for all that are available. Will take a few days as I will need to make someone check the build spec documents.

I think the paper catalogue is a bit all over the place.
