What Tyres Do You Use.

Hi Guys.

 

Not been on here for a while.

 

I am thinking of changing my tyres for something different.

 

Up until now i have used Toyo Proxie T1R's for the road, their a good tyre but are beginning to get expensive.

 

What are you thoughts on good tyres for both road and track use.

As ORB said I have found Michelin PE2s the best followed by Hankook S1 Evos.

Mines got Toyo CF1's all round, never seen them before but they seems to do well.

 

If i have it long enough to need to replace them id probably go for T1R's for my use..

another PE2 user here slightly soft sidewalls compared to some but way better than paradas, never got on with toyo, got avons and falken on the other cars but i havent driven them for so long i cant compare

Avon ZV3/5, excellent in the dry, no wheelspin even with the torque I have and very good in the wet, and not expensive.

T1Rs are not up to spirited track use, just tear apart. Never tried Falkens 915, or any of the others, bar the Hankook which have horrificly soft sidewalls, pulled one off the rim once!

 

How about the Yoko Parada 2? Anyone here had them on a track car?!

 

I seem to think the closer the tread blocks, the less squirmy they will be, i guess?!

I know it sounds mental, but have you ever noticed that some Tyres look good on a car??

 

I think PE2's are a prime example of this.

I'm not a fan of the look of them either I liked the look of Eagle F1s. And I didn't think they were a bad tyre.

quite liked them, stiffer sidewall over the PE2.

I've a set of Paradas and a set of PE2's on the sets of wheels for my turbo.

 

The PE2 are far better in the wet.

 

However the Paradas are better for straight line dry grip. They will just about hang on to 2nd gear full boost where the PE2's won't.

i took the paradas off mine and replaced them with toyo R1R's. its transformed the car! the yoko's are total crap and the side walls are too soft, no matter what pressure i ran them at on a track day i wore the sidewalls down due to them flexing so much

the r1r's are a trackday tyre but not as extreme as 888's and no where near as noisey on the road.

The Yoko 2's are just horrid, A track day I did on some I managed around 15 mins before they melted (On the rear as well) and died a nice death, Another one to add to the bag but only used them on a 306 is the P Zero's, Not bad but they do squeal abit,

Have 2 on the rear, and toyo proxies on the front. Always loved the proxies they are my favourite for road use.

These are my road use tryes, but fought id put my 2pence in.

 

I love the Toyo Proxies Good performing all rounder tyres.

 

Ive had Good year F1's all around which again where Good performing all rounder tyres.

 

I also had some Yokahoma's cant remember the tyre name, but they where fantastic in the dry, but absolutely crap in the wet.... nearly caught me out on the first day i replaced a full set.. Normal driving in these where hard work in the wet as they tended to let go on the front and the back follows just seconds after even when slow cornering
