Awesome car!

I'm building a Dimma with a GTI-6 at the minute. Very impressed with the level of detail.

Bim polished the rims (1 FAT PUG) on here, £130 for the 4 rims but i guess it depends what condition there in, he did a wicked job tho and would definately recommend him.

Tyres are all fitted so putting on today hopefully get some more pics up tonight :)

well tyres and wheels back on the car was great to take it out yesterday as its been a month! lol certainly puts the power down alot better, guess the 14year old tyres i had on it werent much good haha.

also it doesnt feel like its gonna pull me off the road now it goes more or less in a straight line :) all tho there is still a hell of alot of torque steer lol.

next step up rate fuel pump and 4 bfr and re move restrictor and re map :))

also you might notice the aero catches i fitted stop the bonnet from lifting.

ok well its been awhile since my last update but still been doing a few bits on the dimma, and making an appearence at pugfest this year so for the first time so thought id up date you all :)

i originally had a be1 mi16 box which had done untold amount of miles which started crunching in every gear i thought it was about time i should upgrade especially now i was running 244bhp lol. i sourced a fully reconditioned box which had been built by miles but the bloke had never fitted it.

post-15003-0-48313300-1372961709_thumb.jpg

in my be1 box i was told it had a quaife Dif all though confident it had i had never checked but after removing the dif housing i found what i was hoping for :) so this was then fitted to my new box.

post-15003-0-74634200-1372961839_thumb.jpg

while i had the gearbox off i had decided that i could gain a lil more performance with one of these

post-15003-0-61156100-1372961966_thumb.jpg

and what a difference it all made solid gearchanges with the new box and alot more free reving :)

the only thing was the flappy gear stick so fitted new brass bushes bought from the group buy. and the amount of difference they made were amazing mine must have really been worn.

moving on i decided that i was a bit fed up of the heavy steering, there are many different opiniouns on this but i decided to give it a crack and see what it would be like with power steering. my thought was if i dont like it i can always put it back.

so i started with a corsa b power steering unit and offered it up to my steering columb it looked like it would fit perfectly behind the dash which was quite important to me.

post-15003-0-77899000-1372962412_thumb.jpg

this pic was once i had mounted the brackets which i used the standard mounts off my columb one side and used the corsa b mounting bracket the other side just welding on a couple of l brackets. the motor and housing fit great between the two standard brackets all that was needed was to cut the arch out a lil to accomadate the motor housing but this did not affect the rigidity of the mounts in anyway once the the unit was fitted as it braced it all together. :)

heres a few pics of the colmb build and mounted.

i was very pleased with the way it turned out and now after driving it i love it i can adjust the assistance on it too, it really has helped with the torque steer and makes it a pleasure to drive.

a few more pics of the actual build.

i also fitted an stack oil temp gauge so had a more precise temp reading :) and mounted on a pod with my boost gauge.

the next thing on the list was to uprate the fuel system as soon will be going to the high boost and the fuel pump currently wouldnt be able to cope so fitted a walbro and swirl pot and the boot floor.

the boot one i cut the mat over the battery box and used the carpet cut out to camaflarge the front of the battery box

look forward to seeing you all at pugfest be great to meet you all, all those that have helped me throughout the build and put faces to those names :)

Looks like quite a tidy install of the Corsa e-PAS How is steering feel impacted, as that's the usual downfall of the electric systems?

That's usually down to the calibration, as evident by Chris Harris's comments on the new 991 GT3, shares the same steering components as the base 991 but steering feels so much different, the adjustable assistance would help achieving that.

the potentiometer is designed by a guy that is a friend of a friend they use the corsa b unit in there escorts which they race, my mate Matt Downer makes the units for the escorts and sells them as a kit.

so i thought why not try it on the 205, tbh ive not done any track days and am most likley not going to any time soon i think id be too worried about the car lol but to me the steering is alot better it took a while to get used to as i was still yanking hard on the steering wheel  but now i have. I usually have it on the lowest assistance for road, it feels very responsive and doesnt feel like its gonna pull me off the road when excelerating hard. the torque steer is little to none. i guees its all down to prefferance really but im glad i tried it because i wouldnt be with out it now :)

Not been on here for a while so a little update just before christmas i decided it was time to take out the restrictor and go high boost as i was now confident i had everything running well, so we took it down to Track and Road for a remap it made 315bhp which i was pretty happy with :)

it could make more but as due to the injectors i was running they were getting very close to the limit at high revs we set the limiter to 7500 the car was still pulling hard when it hit the limiter :)

also the charger wasnt making maximum boost due to the bore size of the pipe work from the charger to the intercooler and inlet.

i will try upload a copy of the print out tomorrow :) so you can see some figures.

over all im really pleased with the way it puts down the power.
