If you fit say gti shocks and a gti arb it might not rub as much but they will rub, the pepper pots would of been better and lighter too.

i would put the 14" peperpots back on, as it will struggle to pull 15" s.

a nice gti beam on the back, and gti struts with 20/30mm lower springs would be ideal, as there is hardly any weight in the tu engines.... alloy ones anyway.

i am selling my old xs engine and box if you want to buy it, will go streight in. and i have gti struts. and 1.9 calipers / discs on xs hubs 80 quid the lot. collected obviously.

Found these on ebay, brand new Kuhmo 175/50/15. When the guy said he wanted £60 for the lot I went and picked them straight up as they were only 40 miles down the road.

Now can hopeully get the scrapping problem on the arch sorted and lower the back sometime this week

As being a poor student, valances are a no. Front suspension is still on 40mm springs and shocks, once I get the tyres on I can get around to doing the back now that I have uprated the back shocks.

Also the rubber chicken is my dogs favourite toy. I think she will cry if I took that

On other news: do you still have the Xs engine you took out of your project?

yes it is here, with the box still bolted to it. missing an inlet manifold and carb. yours for £60

should be able to pick up a pair of red valances for £20/30?

How much is a carb and inlet for a Xs?

you could pick up a manifold for next to nothing, get yourself a dvg weber from an old ford capri/escort (£50-70 can get hold of them for) and make it fit (easy job) and makes a big difference.

Dont fit a webber off a ford, find a twin choke solex it will be much better for the running of the engine.

I'm not looking to modify the engine. just keep it nice and standard. Just want the little bit more power then my 1.1 has. Putting the 1.9's on has really slowed the car down :/ I'm using so much fuel to keep up with traffic and overtake it's unbelivable :(

Anyone got any gti valances for sale?

I would fit 106 rallye steels or some lighter wheels, yeah 1.9s on a 1.1 kills it.

Got quite a few busy days this week with the car. Got to sort the brakes out, lower the back, rpair one wheel since hitting the curb in ice, tracking to do and fit new tyres :/

Should be done by saturday so I can go to the P.town cruise with a few friends and meet up with alot I haven't seen for a while ;)

Why do 205's cost so much to fix at once? :D

You'v bought some new 15inch tyres to solve the scrubbing?

It will scrub with 15inch wheels regardless of tyre choice. As above you need some 106 Rallye steeles or pepper pots. Both in my opinion better looking wheels!

With regards to engine, best you can do it fit a 1360 engine as it will drop straight in no worries. You say you don't want to modify it but if you do cant go wrong with the solex (and manifold)
